Archetyp News - YGW/ANT aka Marc Hegemeister : Archetyp | Torhoo darknet markets

I am translating some recent news published on the Spanish media LaVanguardia. I will post the link on the comments.

A fan and computer musician: Thus the largest drug boss in Europe fell

In the early hours of Wednesday, June 11, a dozen agents from the German and Spanish police stormed an attic of a luxurious urbanization of Diagonal Mar and arrested a young German, Marc Hegemeister: the creator of Arco Archetyp Market, the largest online supermarket in the drug in Europe, which for four years he directed from Barcelona.

Carsten Meywirth, director of cyber crimes of the German Federal Police (Bundeskriminalamt), announced that the operation, called Deep Sentinel, dismantled "one of the oldest drug markets in the Dark Web." According to Europol, in addition to cutting "an important line of supply of some of the most dangerous substances in the world" sent a clear message to cybercriminals: "There is no refuge for those who earn money to harm."

Hegemeister, indeed, had become very rich. Police explained that Archetyp had 612,000 users and 3,200 registered vendors and in the five years he had been active, he had made transactions worth 250 million euros ... and of all he took a 5%commission.

Cybersecurity specialists explain that the platform operated as a drug Amazon: it contacted vendors with buyers, who could be both particular for self -consumption and wholesalers. He sold heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, and other synthetic drugs and especially cannabis, which was approximately 40% of its operations.

His fall has generated an unfortunate avalanche in the forums specialized in drug use, with his users asking "how can I surely find my medicine?", After the fall "of the best" seller, "the most reliable." "I had not bought at anyone else," said another forero.

Hegemeister combined the efficiency and a very German Puritan sense (his motto was: "Without weapons, without pornography, without racism, without poisons, without fraud") with the business studies that he studied in Monden-Lübbecke, a town in the northeast of the country. There he obtained the Business Economist Certificate, a non -university degree issued by vocational training centers, equivalent to our FP.

In Archetyp buyers scored sellers based on the punctuality of the shipping and quality of the product; He had a forum in which they debated and shared their experiences; He mediated with complaints and claims, and offered discounts to sellers if they offered welcome discounts to new clients.

This "professionalism" allowed Archetyp to take advantage of the dismantling of the other two large European clandestine markets, Dream Market and Silk Road, and become a key logistics knot of drug trafficking.

Its same success, however, was the origin of its fall. Hegemeister was obsessed with security. His supermarket operated on the Tor Network, where he had several “mirror” domains, he only admitted new users with invitation and demanded payment in the monero cryptodivisa, considered one of the ones that most protect the privacy of transactions.

However, he suffered constant attacks of bots of ddos (denial of services), some of their own competitors, linked to professional networks of drug traffickers who had reopened supermarkets that had been previously dismantled.

The police also considered its fall a priority objective: due to the large sales volume and because it was one of the few online platforms sold the hardest drugs, such as heroin and fentanyl. Cybersecurity experts speculate that one of those DDOS attacks, which the platform suffered in April, was really launched by the police, to be able to track the administrators of the network when they opened new mirror domains to keep it operational. Others ensure that the police arrived at the network by tracking the data of the vendors of another online store, Nemesis, dismantled in May.

Hegemeister, who covered his identity on the network with alias such as Yosemite Ghost Write, Big Boss Chef of Archetyp and Asnt, was not just a computer scientist. Electronic music fan (he has even composed an album on the border of rap and hip-hop) and martial arts, he explained in user forums of his own market his modest family origins, a gang youth and his entry into the world of drugs as a consumer of LSD.

In forums and in alternative media interviews he explained that with Archetyp I wanted to create an "archetype" of a utopian society, where drug use was "healthy and active" and "where values are more important than maximizing benefit." However, the drug had made him rich.

Neighbors of the Urbanization of the Paseo Garcia Faria where he lived, described as reserved and educated. The glasses and a slight overweight gave him an air of "computer mouse." He claimed to be an Internet entrepreneur, and thus justified his high train of life: duplex attic in the seafood, luxury watches and a corvette and a mercedes in the garage, although in the forums he boasted of never monetizing the cryptodivisas with which he was paid to avoid identifying him. The police seized them: 7.8 million euros, in total, and properties in Germany.

Assisted in the arrest by lawyer Jesús Becerra, Central Court 4 of the National Court sent him to Can Brians and last Tuesday he was extradited to Germany for crimes of drug trafficking, which entail a maximum penalty of 15 years. In Germany, the administrators of other markets have been condemned to life imprisonment.

In an interview published a few months ago he acknowledged that despite all his precautions he could be arrested. But he anticipated that Archetyp would be replaced "from one day to another" by another online supermarket that will be "the next head of the hydra."

So let me get this right, he got 215M of transaction volume off arch in the psat 5 years, 5% commission which is $10.75M to his pocket, then he has to cover all expenses (pay his employees and other fixed costs)

$7.8M in crypto got seized, is the remaining 10.75-7.8M = approx $3M minus expenses really worth it ? (600k a year minus costs...)

Like is he actually leaving with a penny from all this ? or did he just waste 5 years of his life + the next 15 years for nothing ?

Hopefully he has/had other sources of income cuz fuck

Additionally, he looks too old imo. Marc is currently 30, the certificate is from 2018. I guess the picture is not much more recent than that. Let's say it was from around 2019. Marc was 24 at that point. I think the person looks definitely older.

Germany has already sentenced market admins to life in prison in the past. He's cooked.

can you share any source for that?
The guys from Wall St. had like 5-7 years.
Shiny Flakes had like 4 years.
And we totally gonna forget about that germany does not even have a life sentence?
/u/TeachUHow2Trap
1 points
Germany has a life sentence. It's a MINIMUM of 15 years. The average is 20 years. This is due to Germany having a weird "parole" rule. Once you hit the minimum of 15 years, you are up for parole...you are not released yet...and they don't have a time limit for parole in Germany. There are people who are at 40 years in a German prison.

Plus, there's the simple fact that all these agencies worked together so, this likely means that they came to an agreement on how long he has to be in prison for(Usually following the USA's order here) and they likely said whoevers citizen it is, gets the catch. Otherwise, if the USA didn't think he would get LIFE in prison, they would just take him themselves and extradite or the Spanish would keep him at their country if the USA didn't think Germany would extradite.

Now, what's the final nail in the coffin for never getting out? They've already mentioned it in the article...and it's Fentanyl. They are 100% going to blame this man for deaths due to Fentanyl since they couldn't honeypot the vendors.

Sad situation but our man is beyond cooked.
/u/[deleted]
1 points
Yes there is something in germany called "Sicherheitsverwahrung" this gets only added to your Life sentence (what is 15 years max) when there is a possible risk that you are gonna harm anyone after your prison time.
So the most part you said is complete BS.
As i said in my comment above where i listed multiple Guys that got caught in germany, and operated outside of germany aswell, they all got a shorter sentence than 10 years.
/u/TeachUHow2Trap
1 points
You listed vendors bud. Vendors in the USA rarely get long sentences either. OpiateConnect365 got 10 years in prison. XanaxKing2 got like 7 years. The dude who was moving a LITERAL SLED of Xanax from Canada to the USA across the border got under 10 years. OxyGod got like 17 years. The only real vendors who get life in prison in the USA is heavy fentanyl dealers where there are deaths linking to them and, even then, it might be 20 years?

Not a good case study you threw out there. Market Admins are never getting out. If you think otherwise, be my guest, but he ain't getting out.
/u/[deleted]

bro all people i mentioned were admins of a marketplaces.
Wall St Market was the biggest marketplaces.
Shiny Flakes was 4 years in prison and got out.
German Law is not the same as the retarded US Law.
If you are a German citizen, and you are getting extracted to your country you are getting in YOUR Court.
So there is no fucking life sentence.
/u/TeachUHow2Trap

Do you even read before anything you comment? The Wall Street guys haven't been sentenced, the USA is currently trying to pull them over to press charges here and Germany is going to let them. Second, there IS a life sentence in Germany. I mean, zero research before you sound dumb just hurts everyone.
/u/imminentInsufflation 🍼
2 points
1. The Wall Street guys have been sentenced in 2021 (5y3m, 6y3m, 7y9m)
2. The only way to get what is called a "life sentence" for sure in Germany is if you are convicted of: murder, extreme cases of manslaughter, genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, starting a war of aggression. You can however also get one for violent crime which leads to the death of someone (also high treason but there's only ever been 1 case) , but this is rare (97% of all life sentences are due to murder). Usually none of these apply to DNM admins.
3. Extradition of German citizens is constitutionally illegal, except in special cases to other EU countries or the ICC (neither of which apply to the US).
4. Even if they weren't German citizens, it is not legal to extradite out of Germany if there is a chance that certain German legal standards cannot be guaranteed in the requesting country (this actually recently lead to a court blocking an extradition because they found US law could not guarantee that the extraditee wouldn't be sentenced again for something they were already in prison for in Germany in the past). There is increasing talk of extradition to the US possibly being illegal if there is a chance that extraditees might end up in high security prisons since conditions there constituting inhumane treatment or torture.

Reading alone doesnt always help.
Since there's many germans here - we assume that everyone knows life sentence in germany is 15 years!
If you are considered a dangerous criminal to society it could be extended (which in his case is extremely unlikely since he's ot a psychopath murder).
That means summarized he gets sentenced to a MAXIMUM of 15 years. More likely 8-12 years with the option of 2/3 release on probation.

He is extremely lucky not to get extradited to the US.

You have Germany all wrong. A life sentence is A MINIMUM of 15 years then you are ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE. They can delay parole for an unspecified amount of time past 15 years depending on the severity of the crime.

There is no sentence higher than the number 15 - what you're refering to is sicherheitsverwahrung - meaning after 15 years the person has to be kept inside for an additional time (there is no release after 15 years). The additional time is being reassessed constantly in intervals based on certain factors. Effectively this is the highest sentence preserved for brutal psychopath murders that could never be reintegrated in society. Marc is not getting this Sicherheitsverwahrung - you can be 100% sure!
/u/TeachUHow2Trap

The "average" life sentence is Germany is actually around 20 years.

They ain't letting the man out. It's game over. Sorry about your bust but, it's not happening. When all of these countries work together, they pretty much follow the USA's call here. They probably agreed to a pact of "whoever's citizen it is" gets to claim the catch but they all agreed to how long this dude is going to prison.

For one, they will pin all the fentanyl deaths from Arch, that they can prove, on him. That's just going to happen. He ain't getting around it.

How do you say "he will never step foot outside a prison again" in German? Because that's what is happening.

Thanks for sharing, it remains to be seen how much of the article is realistic, and how much is a conflated version written by non-tech-savvy journalist, excerpts such as:
- "Hegemeister was obsessed with security. His supermarket operated on the Tor Network, where he had several “mirror” domains, he only admitted new users with invitation (...)";
- "However, he suffered constant attacks of bots of ddos (denial of services), some of their own competitors, linked to professional networks of drug traffickers who had reopened supermarkets that had been previously dismantled. (...)"

may make someone think somebody just scrapped Dread random comments, giving different speculations and theories total credibility and taking them at face value. Nonetheless, now with YGW deported in Germany, it may be interesting to know which exact crimes he is accused of, as I, for one, I am not aware of Archetyp staff directly managing drug trafficking. Does German law have some sort of harboring crimes defined as a crime in their criminal law?

There is a DeCommerce project (ivyca.com/decommerce/)

In forums and in alternative media interviews he explained that with Archetyp I wanted to create an "archetype" of a utopian society, where drug use was "healthy and active" and "where values are more important than maximizing benefit." However, the drug had made him rich.

And? He upheld those values. He had harm reduction info on site. He deserves to be fucking rich because he did build a utopia, and like every nice thing the government has to come and ruin it.

There was more harm reduction on Archetyp for drugs than there is in normal supermarkets for alcohol, one of the worst drugs in my opinion. Hope the feds are real happy with themselves.

FACT CHECK:
1 - no Marc cannot face life in prison in germany for the crimes and laws he broke! His crimes DO NOT meet the conditions to be sentenced to "life in prison" (this is also confirmed by various similar cases like Wallstreet etc.)
2 - expected sentence realistically will be 8-12 years and if he is cooperative he can probably suspend 10-20% of the sentence
3 - NO he will definetly NOT be extradited to the US: german law protects him from this
4 - he donated 12k to a extremis right law-and-order party which is in DIRECT OPPOSITION of us as a darknet community and massively wants to increase surveillance, police power, decrease soft powers and punish drugs way harder. NO IDEA WTF HE WAS THINKING OR WHY HE DID THAT???

there was a leaking IP he had enough money to hire a team to protect against the ip attacks he should spent more money on logistics with 9 million bucks you could do more. could set up more servers in different parts of the globe to relaunch the site from different servers instead protecting one server from attacks spread it out and dont put ur servers in germany ever or netherlands only put them in russia with russia no one can touch ur servers ever they not allowed in there . dude coulda had motion sensors at his house could seen the cops coming shut down everything kill switch erasing all proofs. biggest mistake was not living in non extro countries after making few million = move to russia where your untouchable and keep the site up . homes made to many mistakes now hes got no $ anyone with a dollar got more money then him.

indeed staying in the EU was a mistake on his part when there are so many nicer (& cheaper!) places to hide. i didn't see where it was an IP leak that was what finally took him down, though - thought it was that LE had compromised one of the admins (as well as some of the vendors like pygmalion) & got close to him that way? or has it been confirmed that it was the ddos/whoisteam attack that deanonymized them?
