Are any people here on dread are avid book readers? : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

I have been trying to read book recently and the only one I could stomach was the book Cyberia from David Rushkoff probably cause the story telling was all over the place and a lot of the real world ideas from the book resonate with myself. Just curious what books you guys read, looking for more recommendations is all.

Mainly political, economical, scientific or about technological advancements.
Honestly there is so many places that I cannot exactly pinpoint where I find them usually.

Usually they are:
- PubMed
- EFF
- Bloomberg
- Forbes
- CNN/CNBC/AP/NY/NPR/ABC/FT

if you like books that jump all over the place, try House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski. that book is amazing. you kind of need the hard copy though, unless someone has done a custom ebook where you can jump between all the story lines easily (a regular scan would definitely not work with this one)
loved it when i read it & appreciate it still more after living in a house with a "5 1/2 minute hallway" of sorts myself...

I know it's kinda cliche but i'm reading Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian right now. it's great. reading books (and no audiobooks don't count) is unironically the best treatment for the brain rot/fog that people feel and all the other attention span issues that come with regular smartphone and social media usage.

Blood Meridian is a beautiful one. Truly a shame it wasn't adapted into film, I love McCarthy's writing style, as disorienting as it can be at times.

I would've loved to see Judge Holden on screen, easily one of my favorite characters in fiction.

Of course, in fact I find online books one of my main sources of learning and new information.

Most of the books I possess are in regards to social engineering and influence.

To name a few:

48 Laws of Power (Robert Greene)

Influence (Robert Cialdini)

These are the 2 I am extensively researching right now. Otherwise, I learn from online content such as articles, newsletters, and notably videos.

This comment got removed, but I can see the one where you explained how you had a CIA handbook that could read minds. Why would you post that, if not to draw attention to it? People who want to withhold information usually don't brag about it. Let me know if you ever consider leaking the contents!

It didn't 'get removed', rather I removed it. I thought I was being quite rude to you for no reason lol

Yes. I fucking love books.
There's this insane book that I'm reading, and apparently, $5M of CIA research went into that book.

The book lets you literally read someone's mind, get them to do whatever you want them to do, and make someone behave as far from their baseline actions as possible in a short time.
As I read the first few pages, I couldn't help but think that the writer is a fucking scumbag. I genuinely believe you can do a shit ton of damage with this information.

I'm honestly surprised how the government let this book go public. Thankfully, I have a fucking copy.
Ain't nobody getting that.

i too have been trying to read more, i even bought an ereader.
i ended up not reading that many books - ~4 in a year and a half - but i do read newspapers on a regular basis.
i have a source for my national newspapers and every day i go there, check the front pages, and if i find any articles that interest me, i read them.
if i have the time to completely read it, i do buy one of the weekly ones every other week to support the industry.
