Based on my experience you're better off just getting another standalone computer to run monero. Tails isn't really the best OS for it and you wouldn't want to leave it running 24/7 anyways for opsec. Also, unless you have a server farm with a bunch of cuda core gfx cards and unlimited free energy, you're not going to make much money mining.

Yeah I agree with this too. Tails is great for what it does, being a lightweight OS that can complete single sessions of internet activity, and then forgetting everything that's not persistent afterwards. I have never mined before, but I feel like you need much more robust hardware and a consistent OS you can save progress on.
You do, you'll need to download the entire monero blockchain and unless you want to dedicate a whole drive it's just not worth it. Hardware specs aren't really an issue as XMR was designed to be mined easily but Tails is meant to be on a small disk easily removable. Not to mention the strain on the tor network
You don't need to use tails for this. Just use some linux distro with decent security measures setup. If you want or need to spoof your ip fpr whatever reason you can do this a few ways without running on tails.. it's just not really designed for this
