are you stealing at self-checkout? : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

hey, hope you having great day!

i am just curious if I am the only one from EU that is stealing some groceries from self-checkouts. sometimes there is a control and they scan my stuff to check if I am not stealing anything and even if they scan something that I basically stole they did not take care xd

let me know how is it going in your country.

keep safe!

ps - I have money for it, I just like free stuff.

They do this at Wal-Marts in America. They are a major shopping center for food,Clothes, electronics, toys, pharmacy and a tire shop. Not sure if you knew about Wal Marts lol but they have some 70 yr old lady or man ask for your receipt. I always wondered how the fuck do they know all the groceries were paid for when the cart is completely fucking full. I feel bad because some people are major assholes to them. And its just some olderly person doing there job so they can have insurance and stay alive!

Im in the US. About half the stores I goto make you self checkout. When I worked retail a million years ago I remember them saying "you cashiers are the last line of defense for theft".

So if your going to make me ring up my own shit your making me work for your multi billion dollar company for free. I steal shit because I guess I suck at my nonpaying job.

I don't get how you use it to get free stuff, the shitty self scanners throw a fit about the stuff I've scanned, let alone stuff not scanned.

My questions to EU/US users: have your stores starting charging for carrier bags? Always wondered if it was only us.

It depends on store, but when you go to some big store there are charged bags at all and pretty pricey for just some shitty bag that will break with little bigger load, so you need to buy more of them. But when you go to some small store, they are pretty much giving you these bags for free. (EU answer)

Word of warning, a lot of these self-checkout cameras are logging things like this and potentially this information may get passed to authorities. There's been a rollout of anti-theft measures using facial recognition across England (where I currently reside) and they're knuckling down. I pretty much steal something religiously every time I go grocery shopping, but it won't be anywhere near the self-checkout, those cameras are WAY too close...I just pocket things as I go along, then pay for the bulk of my groceries like a normal person. (lip balm, chocolate, body moisturizer and nice cuts of steak are my go-to's) f*ck these supermarkets and the "cost of living crisis" which is really the corporate greed crisis. Carry on stealing just be extra careful <3

I have seen at walmart sometimes items are packaged in bulk but the single item barcode is still showing though the pack (I am mostly talking about padded envelopes from what I have noticed.) You can scan and only pay for the single. Even if your caught you could probably play dumb

US here, occasionally could steal from Walmart by purchasing heavier items initially and then putting (stealing) lighter weight items on last but their upgraded scales are too accurate to do this anymore. Same at King Soopers, used to work but last time it didn't cashier came over and replayed a VIDEO of me not scanning an item
