The French administrators of the website for the sale of stolen data BreachForums arrested
The last four administrators of this most well-known pirate-to-his-site exchange space in the world for the resale of stolen data were arrested on Monday, 23 June.

Since its dismantling by the US authorities, “BreachForums”, a space for the exchange between pirates and the most well-known site in the world for the resale of stolen data, has rebuilt around a core of five French activists, hidden behind the pseudonyms “IntelBroker”, “ShinyHunters”, “Hollow”, “Noct” and “Depressed”.

Here he is struck again in the heart. The last four administrators were arrested on Monday 23 June during a coordinated police operation in Clamart in Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Maritime and Réunion, and then taken into custody, according to our information.

On February 22, the Brigade to Combat Cybercrime (BL2C) called on “Intelbroker”. Two months later, on 14 April, “BreachForums” ceased to operate by decision its administrators, who nevertheless continued to claim attacks on large companies on a case-by-case basis, according to a police source.
Ministries, FFF, Accor... many victims

They are thus suspected of having committed numerous data thefts to the detriment of world-renowned companies. In France, their victims include public and private bodies, such as the Ministry of National Education, SFR, the French Football Federation (FFF), Boulanger, Accor, France Travail, Capgemini, LVMH, etc.

The last four suspects arrested on Monday, all men, are 20, 21, 22 and 23, only one of whom is already known to the Treatment of Criminal History (TAJ) for possession of category B weapons. Since its creation in March 2022, the activity of the illicit “BreachForums” platform has been repeatedly hampered by US authorities.

In 2023, the FBI called its creator, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick a.k.a. "Pompompurin", and the group's servers were shut down in April 2023 and May 2024. Operations that did not definitively shut down the piracy site, which renewed its infrastructure and acquired a new French management team.

Was it the Tech Stack? Was it Admin Opsec fumbles?

...Was it LE ingenuity?

We may never know;

I don't know about French courts do the details come out? We will have some details but that depends if France extradites to US or wherever else is asking for it. Them all being in the same country is a strong connection and I assume one of them snitched on all of them. The fact they all got taken at the same time, in the same country .. we have to wait and see.

His OpSec was almost non existant, according to the complaint the justice department published, undercover agents bought some data he was selling with bitcoin and mr Kai West aka IntelBroker got it in to his Coinbase account registered in his own name. He also registered his Twitter account with his personal email and his account was literally "intelbroker" he also used the same VPN ip's for personal and criminal activity.

Quite shocking, I had some interactions with Intelbroker in the past, I would have never guessed he was so young. With the disappearance of Breachforums and, to a lesser extent, Onniforums, access to OSINT on data breaches has become certainly more difficult for the wider audience. Now it would be interesting to know if authorities can link them to data thefts, as it is well known in many cases, the BF staff was just acting as an intermediary.

I had made assumptions they had maybe got at least one administrator. I am surprised that all of them are in France. It's possible they all knew eachother somehow?

This is probably the end of the bf community after all this time. There is no member of administration left.

I may be wrong but wasn't there one more admin called cybernigger ? By the looks of it, you may be right, it may well be that the staff were acquainted before, and chose to work together in the forum. That also could potentially make it easier for police to grab them all, if there was ample evidence of them having prior communication links between each other.

I think cyberniggers was a group not an admin but I am not of sure. INtelbrokers was part of Cyberniggers so that was maybe a name he used?

They have had broker since february so it is possible he has snitched on everyone or no one at all. Not a good look.

I can't recall, but afaict it was something like that, either intelbrokers was part of cyberniggers, or they were using indistinctly one or another nickname to make some posts. It certainly doesn't look good at all, if police got one of them and negotiated lessening the charges in exchange for snitching, it is understandable it may well have happened like that.
