Also if anyone becomes a fool of buying a dread username, you only have yourself to blame.
In my view, usernames especially iconic ones should have a system of recognition and valuation. Think about it: when someone passes away or leaves the scene, their usernames could be respectfully auctioned or passed on.
I’m not here to scam anyone or force people into anything. I’m simply trying to do what I know best identify and create value where others might not see it yet. If a username like /u/bitcoin was available, I wouldn’t hesitate to take it, even for free. I'd hold onto it and eventually find the right buyer. That’s just the reality of this kind of market, whether people like it or not.
At the end of the day, you don’t really have a stake in this particular post, so I’m not sure why there would be any pushback. I’m just offering an idea and putting something up for auction that I believe has worth.

It’s already happening in places most people don’t bother to look. Telegram’s selling usernames for over 5,000 TON—not through backchannels, but officially. People out there are paying real money for names. This isn’t some theory. This isn’t a joke. Go verify it yourself if you think I’m bluffing.
