Blown my opsec but only for a clearnet greymarket imported order. Suggestions for how to explain if it comes up why names are different? : DNMUK | Torhoo darknet markets
Yea I know these are terrible opsec no-nos but since it is just a greymarket order and from what I have read the worst would be a caution I felt it did not matter so much. My thoughts were it is about weighing up ability to be able to contact them vs keeping total anonymyty. I recently lost a package because I gave so much fake stuff and there was an issue and then I was not able to contact them so lost the package due to some stupid shit and it got sent to the wrong place which I didn't want to collect from.
So I thought I would put my head above the parapet this time as again there is an issue with the delivery and the amount/substance is inconsequential.
I began with ordering with fake information over tor. Temp email, fake phone number.
As I have tracked the package there was no issue apparently with customs and the problem only came when they tried to deliver it within the UK. Not royal mail.
So at this point I had to contact them and so given the above, that it is a low risk thing, rather than going to all the trouble of still trying to keep anonymous while being in direct contact, I just decided to ring them on my usual phone number.
At worst I am thinking just to say "fair cop" well, no comment.
The issue still isn't resolved and thinking to plan picking up at a pickup location to make it simpler.
Now the delivery issues could all be a ruse to draw me out and controlled delivery but I guess why would they bother for a tiny amount for personal use unless of course they think it is a class A but they wouldn't do all that without having a good idea it was worth their time to use their resources would they?
So I am currently in discussions with the delivery customer services, and of course realize that could all be being recorded, seeking a resolution to get the package to a place to collect it. It is weekend now so monday will be the next day to try and sort something out.
If I have to pick up in person though I will be requested to show ID most likely, which would be different from the name on the package. So would the cashier allow that if I had the tracking number too and what would be a good cover story for that? Just that a friend ordered it? I think I have read that it is allowed to collect for someone else provided you have the tracking number.
If it is DPD - your best chance of not being ID'd for collection is to one of their pick-up stores, where it's done by QR code, they are still supposed to check ID in the stores but a good 80% don't, they just scan the QR and hand it over. Choose a local pharmacy (the irony) - because they are too busy to care about your package and will just hand you it without an ID check.
DPD customer services will note your conversations against your tracking ID, calls will be recorded, but the likelihood of LE working with DPD customer service agents is all but nil. Any popo involvement goes straight to senior management and seized straight away, they don't ever involve the customer service reps.
I can't speak for other carriers as I don't use them so never took the time to study their inner-workings
It isn't DPD but one of the other big ones these days.
Out of interest are you getting dnm packages via dpd as I have wondered about that as it would be much easier to pickup for me as I don't have an address I can use but haven't found vendors that do this. It would be interesting to know if some do.
I would not mind showing ID so long as they handed over the package. Just wondering about a good cover story for why the names are different if it comes up.
