Is there a proxy setting anywhere? I haven't used cake in a while but you may need to setup the tor proxy. Just a guess but Cake does sometimes just sit on connecting or syncing
Search "Cakewallet Docs Linux Tails" on your search engine and it should pull up a doc (I cannot post links) That should point you in the right direction.
I've followed the steps there, but it gives no guidance on issues with connecting - it also says to follow the above steps each time to run the program. Using the terminal script (no matter which folder in persistent I open it in) never works the 2nd time around - if I open the program directly, it always prompts to make a new wallet. So it seems the documentation there isn't very good - or I'm just an idiot.
Feather is easy, agreed, but I'm looking to use Cakewallet for exchanging non XMR to XMR within Tails for better opsec (relative to cakewallet on an android...)
I know of Haveno-reto but haven't managed to get it working on tails either. Figured this would be an easy improvement without getting Haveno set up within Tails, but will continue looking into getting it working too/instead, since this seems to not hook up to the chain.
Software on Tails either needs to be told to go over the Tor Socks5 proxy, or be torsocks/torify, or something similar to get out to Tor properly. Every software is different. And it's not a whole lot of fun and time consuming to download/run a particular software to figure out the right settings when I rarely use Tails anyway.
