Another wave of shit-storm against a valued member of the community .Don't like it ,don't be here , POST REMOVED cause it breaks rules outright - No factual evidences and blank tell-tale accusations ...

Calling /u/HugBunter BS for no reason too is against the rules ,be nice to all of us is all I say .

User perma-Banned for his actions .Just report these instances via PM if it becomes unbearable or is explicitly abusive, mean and worse still.

How is he meant to pay for servers? What about his time? Dread brings discussions of all markets into one community so what is the problem if hes making money off it? At least there's a place everyone can come to talk about topics that are now forbidden on reddit.

Servers cost a hell of a lot of money to run. You may also be familiar with the phrase, time is money. He certainly has put a lot of time and effort in to this and the vendor shops a like.

Of course, we can't trust him completely, we don't know him. That would be stupid. You can't trust anyone. As long as you maintain good Opsec, you are not at risk. Talking of trust, you mention he took Dread offline 'randomly' for a month. That is simply not the case, an associate whom had server access and access to the onion private key, compromised the safety of users by selling that information to an Olympus admin. You're so informed, i'm shocked you missed it.

That whole thing is hella off and would anyone be foolish to believe it. if anything it was a collab effort for both(hug , Olympus) of them since there hasnt been anything really going on in a year advertising at best , at worse he either sold off the server or acted like this "associate" and back door it and fucked over the other admin

olympus wont be around long , i got hit up earlier by a buddy that has there DB and proved it too me by giving me the password hash of a dummy account i made on there. Should be an interesting month

regardless of the fact ive been around long enough to know that he isnt some hero of the darknet , but who really cares honestly. Just don't step in the bullshit

You just need to have a look at your server history and look for any unauthorized activities concerning your database. This would come up pretty quickly.

Whilst true in most cases, it isn't explicitly correct so I'd at least report the claims to be checked over and see if they can provide any evidence. Every system I access, I try to leave no trace, this includes clearing all logs.

The site admin is a wanker of the highest order ! shit php code,misconfigured varnish,server leaks, allowing of the version of nginx to be fingerprinted, etc. The mug even has /foo/ "hello world to be seen, forum admin panel exposed, just alot of things mate. The admin tried to low ball me mate! admin is a twat and the market unsafe +users are getting the money stolen they just don't know it yet:)

Why is it bad if he needs or wants to make money? I get it if he is saying one thing then doing another. That could make you question them but at the same time people have to make money to live and running He a site like that takes a lot of time. The only way for it to get better and better is for him to make money and more of it to hire others to help him.

Totally understand not liking/respecting someone saying one thing and not really meaning it. No idea about that in this situation because I don't know anything about hugbunter other than he made this site. If hugbunter gets burned out from this and having to work a full time job at the same time DREAD will be gone.

I understand your perspective though and respect it. Just wanted to throw out another view.

If someone needs to run a DW site there is always funds needed. Not evenryone can donate coins to him to develop. So advertisements are obvious way to keep this site running, BE HAPPY DONT CRY

Dread wasn't randomly shut down for a start, it had to be so it could be rebuilt following the past drama. Regardless I am back and providing what I deem as something the community needs.

There is no monetary value towards me. My designer is paid for his work, whereas everything I build it is essentially a free service. Ads pays for server fees, upgrades and additional proxy servers for Dread, they will also help to pay for the fees of additional sites I plan to launch.

As for shops, they run on their own dedicated servers, are upgraded to a necessary point and paid off for multiple years, this is where the cost comes from and is the best price I can provide. Vendors are essentially just paying for their hosting in advance, which is paid off immediately once their shop is live and they have settled their final balance.

Edit: to add to this, most of the currently live ads on Dread were not paid for or were given additional uptime free of charge for the month down time we had.

Actually, it would look suspicious to users if there were no ads or any way to advertise here. Its less possible that this site is "state owned" - usually they dont care about costs.
