Any cell phone can be traced. Even if there's no GPS, they can triangulate your position using the cell phone towers your cell phone can see. NEVER mix your illegal activity with your real life identity if it can be helped at all.
Correct, it will be a somewhat rough location. If it can access GPS and/or Wifi the location can be pinned down to meer feet, but even without GPS and wifi, they can determine where it is that you are.
They also see the phones IMEI, which is unique to each phone, so even if it's a burner phone they could link it to you if you paid using a credit or debit card, but if you paid cash for it, they wouldn't know who you are, just where you are.
Yes. If it is on it finds its mommy using the IMEI, which can theoretically be munged on a rooted Android phone. Google it for a better understanding. They track you from the IMEI, not the SIM card in the IMEI registered phone.
only cellphone provider can track you..even if u don't have GPS they assume your location by calculating the signal strength that is received by each tower from your device..this is called triangulation which could locate you approximately within one kilometer radius only if you have connected to 3 towers atleast!!so if you are in rural area with just one or two towers..they got tough time finding you!
AND your service provider could tell you IMEI easily..coz every time you connect to a band base your cellphone sends two signals defining your cell number and YOUR IMEI NO(which will be on records)
so never put your burner sim in your personal mobile.(unless you wanna get caught)).NEVER!!
get some old mobile without gps and use burner sim..that should work fine for some medium level crime.
Be a ghost:))
Yes they can, if you've send data with personal sim AND the burner sim they'll check the IMEI and you're fucked, always use the burner without any personal id link to it.
Your phone is constantly trying to ping and remain connected to the best cell tower it can find. Its quite literally announcing to these towers of your presence. What can be traced is which towers you connected to at what time. These towers will know your IMEI, as will your provider.
The sim card is just information, no sim card is a "burner sim", the entire phone is. Just by throwing away or destroying the sim card doesnt mean you've cleaned your trail. What youre doing on that phone when connected to towers is literally the trail.
