Clean up the market by removing inactive vendors : AlphaBay | Torhoo darknet markets

Hello.

Small suggestion to provide better user experience.

When a vendor is inactive for x amount of weeks(2 weeks?) his listings should be removed, this will help buyers navigate the market better and give more exposure to active vendors that support the market.

Said inactive vendor, once they log in again, can activate their listings.

There are vendors that have not logged in for 3++ months and their listings are still cluttering the market, making navigating time consuming for buyers.

We understand the revenue sticky and promoted listings provide for this market, but its unfair for buyers and vendors that this practice is ignored.

Another thing, the 0.001$ priced listings are also kinda shady, but that part is on the vendor and buyers can avoid said shady vendors.

Just my two satoshis

"the 0.001$ priced listings are also kinda shady"

This allows vendors to offer pay for shipping only samples so not necessarily shady.

You are right.

However, when looking through the many listings that offer this type of pricing, you will see its hidden costs.

Funny, these listings will always appear first too, but when you try to buy, your total price is more than "normal" shipping cost.

Thanks for the info. I never actually tried to purchase one of those listings, assumed it to be a new guy wanting exposure type thing. I did not know about hidden costs.

It is exposure kinda thing, but a trap.

What they do is have a listing costing 0.001 and shipping cost reflecting the amount.

in the shipping section you have 1g = 50, 2g = 90 etc.

Personally I avoid these type of sellers.

Thanks for the specific details. I assumed that it was .01 plus $10-$15, whatever shipping cost, for the sample with a fixed shipping cost as with other vendors. I would avoid what you mention too.

If /u/DeSnake is interested, I can go through the market and note all inactive vendors and make a list so the market only have active vendors.

I can do this job weekly, thus providing a service for the community.

However, its much easier to automate this.

I like this idea. Im a vendor and Im on everyday and some of my competition that show up above my listings haven't logged in for over a week. Seems wack.

7 days inactive and your listings gets put down, seems to be a fair solution.

If you are vending, you must log in at least once a week IMO.

Even if you dont have active orders, because some buyers like to ask the vendor some questions before ordering.

This will remove vendors who dont take this seriously and indirectly promote those who do + the market looks cleaner and save buyers time by navigating the listings easier, means more revenue for the market.

Its a benefit for all parties.

Exactly... better exeperience for the buyer and more chance for new vendors. I feel like new vendors don't really get a chance at Alphabay..

hey mate there is an indicator on vendors profiles which shows if they are active. We have two shades of green(within 6 hours or more) it means they are active, yellow means they have been inactive for a few days and grey means they have been offline for a while.

Most of the other things you talk about will be fixed up after the next update and will give a better user experience overall.
