things you'll need:
1) Acetone 99.9%
2) Hcl Acid 37% (aka Muriatic Acid)
3) Methyl Alcohol (aka Methanol)
4) 30mL plastic syringe
5) 1mL plastic syringe
6) glass funnel
7) cone coffee filters
8) 2 tall, large shot glasses or glass cups the glass funnel will seat into
Don't listen to the nerds, telling you that you have to bake up some salts in the oven to turn into magnesium sulfate, and then put it in the acetone to get all the water out and blah blah blah. Just buy some really pure acetone, and it'll be good enough.
1) For every gram of freebase, add 15mL acetone. Crush up the Freebase into powder first and then once you've measured the acetone with your plastic syringe and squirt, is it into one of your shot, glasses, four glassware, pour in the Freebase and immediately stir until it all dissolves. You'll then want to put a cone coffee filter in the funnel and put the funnel over your other shot glass and then draw up the liquid with here 30mL syringe and start squirting it into the funnel. Be sure to predampen the coffee filter with acetone first, because you don't want your mixture to get stuck in a dry filter. This may or may not filter out any adulterants, but it's worth doing.
2) For every gram of freebase you're going to add 0.25mL Hcl Acid 37%. Suck it up with the 1mL syringe. But wait to squirt in.
3) For every gram of freebase, you're going to add 0.5mL methyl alcohol. Suck it up with another 1mL syringe.
4) All at once, squirt both syringes into your acetone solution. Either back to back or at same time one in each hand. You are definitely going to need a lid for whatever glassware, this is in right now.
And if you don't have one, then use cardboard or something.
5) Stir it up some then cover and wait 2 hrs. Uncover and stir again. Then cover.
6). Come back a few hours later and you should see a whole bunch of crystals in your solution.
7) get a fresh coffee filter and put it in your funnel.
And pour that crap through. We don't care about predampening it this time. Because all we want is the coke it's going to catch in the filter. Once it's drained, I like to use another coffee filter. To press it and soak up any liquid, I can, then carefully scrape it off all onto one coffee filter and let it dry.
