Customer claiming that package was empty on delivery : Archetyp | Torhoo darknet markets
New vendor here and I have sent roughly 17 orders in the past 2 weeks with no problem, Today get a message from a customer who bought over $2k worth of product and after some delays it finally was delivered. Woke up today from a message saying the box was empty when they got it. As a vendor what would you do in this situation? Ive been working hard to keep a 5* rating and have no need to scam anyone especially when im trying to build my rep on here. If the customer is telling the truth which may be the case and I am leaning towards it is, I also dont want them to take a big L either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
They received an empty box? Very unlikely. If it was confiscated by LE, they wouldn't send an empty box, they would keep it for evidence. Did u close and secure the box well? Did u track the item? Can u safely contact the postal services and request more information from them? As they weight their boxes in their facilities when being processed.
Can you request Archetyp, in market messages, to see if your client has had previous orders?
You remember Amazon scam days? People would claim their boxes were received empty or filled with bricks. It's a common scam.
it might be true, but there's a high change of it being a scam.

Yes. Same here.

It's possible that the box open mid-transit. But these boxes, if they have inbuild gluestrip, have been battle-tested and although it's unlikely, it is possible that somewhere on the factory conveyer belt this happened. But I have to stress, it is unlikely. Unless you've stuffed this box to the brim and it was already about to explore, or the package was particularly heavy.
The client has no prior orders and only was created last month? That's not a good sign. Can u request /d/Archtyp admins to look into his order history?
I wouldn't refund the client yet. I would ask him to make another order and reship part of the order in the box. This way he has to make another investement, and you can apply your lesson of using tape.
2k is a big investement for a starting vendor. It's a big amount of money for most people.

I'd recommend to request the admins getting involved. Talk to Archetyp admins on the markets, they might be able to do something for your, or at least arbitrate. This is what I would do considering the situation.
But, if you're unsure, if you think the box might have gotten loose. If there's any doubt, I'd call it an expensive lesson for the future.

Of course. I hope your business as your knowledge will too.
