No, I wasn’t phished.

I used the official DarkMatter site (with CAPTCHA), verified the PGP-signed deposit address, and today I made a test order — it gave me the exact same XMR address I paid to.

That proves it wasn't phishing — it was a real deposit to the correct wallet, and they just refused to credit it.

Stop repeating "you got phished" when I have cryptographic proof and anyone can verify the same address themselves right now

Download and import market PGP key
Grab PGP message from market with the PGP signature post
Decrypt/Verify message
Will come back if PGP signature matches or not. If not, check to make sure you didn't forget any spaces/etc in your copy and paste. If you did not, investigate the source.

I'll add: Make sure you grab the market PGP keys from a reputable source. Ideally, OP would have downloaded them a long time ago from an official mirror. It would be trivial for a phish to insert their own pgp to a copy site.

Let me clarify this once and for all.

I used the official DarkMatter site (with CAPTCHA), PGP verified the deposit address, and paid 0.83987 XMR.

Today, I did a test order from the same verified site, and guess what?
➡️ It gave me the exact same XMR address as the one I already used.

So stop with the "phished" theory. This is not phishing. I didn’t copy anything from Google or a random source — I’m not a beginner.

And let’s be clear:
If a user verifies the market's PGP key, and that signed message confirms the deposit address — then that’s all that matters.

> “It would be trivial for a phish to insert their own PGP…”
Cool story, except that I verified the signature matched the official PGP from Dread.

If DarkMatter now denies a valid payment to their own verified address, that’s on them, not on me.
They either messed up technically or they’re blaming phishing to avoid responsibility.

I’ll send all cryptographic evidence to Dread moderators, and let everyone judge for themselves.

why would DM exit scam right after arch just got shut down? that makes no sense.
/u/cacatamere 📢 🍼

Why would DM exit scam after Arch got shut down? Simple:

1. Because it's the perfect timing. Everyone is panicking after Arch’s shutdown — no one expects a second market to exit immediately. It's the ideal cover.

2. Because they can blame phishing. That’s what they’re doing with me. Even with full cryptographic proof (viewkey, MoneroExplorer TXID, same deposit address from official site), they just accuse the victim of being phished — no effort to verify anything.

3. Because they think people won’t fight back. I already posted this to protect others. I'm not even asking for my 246€ back anymore — I just want users to be warned.

If you're still unsure, go to the official DM site, place a fake order (no need to pay), and check the deposit address. You’ll see it's the same one I paid to. This isn't phishing — it’s real, verifiable, and repeatable.

Alright, I admit it — I was foolish. After a long search, I finally understood what phishing is. I didn't know that hackers had created such a social engineering method. The worst part is that when you type "duck duck go DarkMatter" into the search bar, you end up on that damn first phishing site. The DarkMatter market is also partly your fault, because you should have warned new users by placing a message on your main page, saying they must not access the site through DuckDuckGo — otherwise they'll get scammed because of this crap. You should’ve said to access it only through the Dread forum.

I lost all my savings, and this mistake — as well as my first experience on the darknet — turned out to be fatal. I probably won’t come back, and if I do, it’ll be to a different market where I can be sure I won’t get scammed. Because even when ordering something like a chair on the darknet, there’s no 100% guarantee the package will arrive — and if on top of that, our money gets stolen just to place the order, then it’s a complete failure. That’s all I had to say.

Bro, I already sent all the proof to the Dread moderators — payment details, transaction ID, PGP message, everything.
I have no reason to lie, I just want justice. If this was phishing, I wouldn’t have had to decrypt a PGP message — that only happens on the real site.

My order is still visible in my account history. If you try placing a new order on DarkMatter in the same category, you’ll see the deposit address is exactly the same I used.
I’m not clueless — the moderators are lying to keep the funds.

Hey did the OP give you the signed PGP message? He is saying that he verified the signature of the PGP message that contains the deposit address. If he can show you that and show your the XMR transaction sent to that address, that should be proof he was on the legit site. The OP has said he verified this. Is that not true b/c if he did properly verify the signed msg w/ the deposit address, that would prove it was from the market. This should be very easy to prove.

Let me confirm: You did take the PGP signed message from the market that contains your deposit address and verified the signature, right? When you did that it said it was a good signature?

Now, if it was a good signature, you need to make sure you have the correct market PGP key. Are you positive you have the legit market PGP key? Paste it here to show you have the right one. B/c in theory if you were on a phishing site, they might provide their own PGP key in lieu of the market and then it would verify the signature.

So if you have the PGP signed message by the market, give that to them b/c that will be the final truth. If you have a signed deposit address from teh market's PGP key and you show you sent it there, then you can prove it was the market's address and it should be a non-issue.

Be aware that there are viruses out there that can swap out deposit addresses.

This should be extremely straightforward to prove.

1. Provide the PGP signed message with the deposit address
2. Verify the signed message and confirm it was signed by the market's key
3. ??
4. Profit

Seriously that would be the end of story. Provide the PGP signed msg and that'll prove it. I haven't used DarkMatter but for DH, they give a signed msg with teh deposit address and I copy this msg and save it. I verify it. This proves I am in the right place.

I would like to request that DarkMatter reopen my order (Order ID: 13faadff-95f3-4e26-8b4e-6397c1881d0a) so I can **manually enter the TXID and viewkey** for payment verification.

✅ I placed the order through the official DarkMatter site (confirmed via captcha and official mirrors).

✅ I paid to the Monero address listed on the order page — I verified it using the site’s official PGP and confirmed the address again today by attempting a new order. It matches 100%.

⛔ After 12 hours, the order was automatically closed with the status **“Rejected / Not Paid”**, even though I had submitted a valid XMR payment.

⚠️ The “Lost Deposit” page was also broken at the time (404 error), so I couldn’t manually submit the TXID/viewkey through the site.

I am **willing to provide full cryptographic proof** that the payment was real:
- The exact deposit address
- TXID
- Viewkey
- PGP signed confirmation
- Monero blockchain explorer link

If DarkMatter reopens the order, I’ll submit everything manually and verify the transaction on-chain.

📌 If this was a technical issue, that’s fine — I just want transparency and a fair opportunity to prove the transaction.

Thanks for your attention. This is not about slandering anyone, I just want to resolve it properly and protect other users from confusion or potential bugs.

Hello everyone,

I want to share what’s really going on with my order on DarkMatter Market. I deposited 0.83987 XMR (about 246€) to the exact deposit address shown on the official DarkMatter site for my order. Here is the address I paid to:

Deposit address I used:
88cJVZYQ67U3G6A3erijhKNDfV8uDwARsbPaANzXQQM7YArfXHsa7pzLDsVAvUGXUcZC8AJRunqKP5M1V3xgGeu33z4esUD

You can verify my transaction here with the Monero TXID and view key:
https://monero.com/payment/71954489eb69268a8c9e147a6c27b211bb7b532d5db235eec9d7705982c3ed72/88cJVZYQ67U3G6A3erijhKNDfV8uDwARsbPaANzXQQM7YArfXHsa7pzLDsVAvUGXUcZC8AJRunqKP5M1V3xgGeu33z4esUD/ebc81cfbcbec6b6a0270f8aea5dd6f17db5c492b3fb5036841bcf5485e02e00a/

After I asked the DarkMatter moderator for explanations, they claimed I sent funds to the wrong deposit address and gave me a completely different address where I was supposedly supposed to send the payment because I got phished. This is false.

Here is the address the DarkMatter support gave me:
87vs5WN6Ndr6d68NkrKa5YPtwoLfAdz8AEG5kw1oVeapjR9us4RvBFmRfcYmbeG8Lo9BUukSb8jts8d1kjbJL7MYT8BCZVo

But I just re-checked right now on the official DarkMatter site, passing the CAPTCHA and everything, and when I try to place a new order in the FakeBase category (to buy fake bills), the deposit address shown for payment is exactly the same one I used for my initial deposit.

You can try it yourself too — visit the official DarkMatter market, try to place an order, and check the deposit address. Unless they have already changed it to cover their tracks, you will see the same address I paid to.

This is clear evidence they are lying and trying to scam me. They try to make me look like a fool who didn’t use the site properly, but I followed all instructions exactly and verified the site’s authenticity carefully.

These are scammers and I want justice. Please verify for yourself by going to the official DarkMatter market and trying this.

Thank you all.
