Do fake scam versions of existing markets ever have nearly identicial URL's? : DarkNetMarkets | Torhoo darknet markets
Wondering how closely I need to check my links before placing orders. Is there ever a chance of getting a fake link that's only one or two characters away from the legitimate one, or are they usually fairly different?
It is entirely possible to generate up to 10 characters at the beginning that are the same on typical consumer hardware. What I recommend is memorizing pieces of the URL from the front, middle, and end. For example you can memorize dread with dreadytofat at the front, onoyno in the middle, and brad at the end. Every URL will have little pieces that are easy to memorize. You should always check that the URL ends with onion additionally because some will end with top, online, com, net, whatever.
Yes this situation is very common (they either try and get your credentials for the real market or try to get you to deposit crypto). This is why when you are logging into a Market they always tell you to confirm the entrire URL is exactly the same.
It is definitely possible to make similar URLs so yes, always confirm. Your crypto (and safety could be at stake)
