Dread Changelog: February 26th, 2018 : Dread | Torhoo darknet markets

Apologies for the large maintenance down time, I've pushed a huge update and had to ensure that no new data was created during this process. This update was mainly bug fixes and adjustments, so there isn't much noticable, new features will be added shortly.

  • Word wrap is finally fixed, sorry for the unnecessary delay with that.
  • Message ordering has been reversed, will improve to jump to the latest message if it is unread soon.
  • Altered comment "cool down" period to 10 seconds.
  • Sub comments (Comment replies) are now ordered by creation time, rather than votes to ensure that context isn't lost whilst there is only 1 comment level.
  • Fixed comment form being cleared when an error has occurred. Reply comment fields may be populated with failed comments to the parent comment and vice versa right now, this is intended as a temporary solution.
  • Homepage "Top Posts" algorithm has been adjusted to show more relevant and popular recent posts.
  • Fixed message forms from being cleared when an error occurs (such as invalid token or captcha).
  • Resolved some error messages from appearing incorrectly.
  • Added a "Discover" page, linked on the homepage for viewing a full list of active communities.
  • Banning users from communities has now been fixed, all moderators should now have permissions to do so.
  • The one everyone seems to have been waiting for... "Subdread" is now a thing. You can now access communities through /d/ prefixes rather than /r/ this will work with either for now, please let me know if you find anywhere in the UI that displays /r/ still or any links that do so. There may be some that I have missed and possibly some redirections so keep an eye out.
  • Wall Street Market security report has now been added.

Much more to come shortly, mainly more security reports being compiled. Will then get to some new features that have been requested and fix any remaining bugs.

I would like to apologize for the lack of communication over the last few days too, I have been swamped and haven't been able to look over requests for approval keys. If I don't reply to you within the next 24 hours, please bump up your conversation with me and I'll try to get it looked at as soon as I can. Completely swamped with everything right now, I'll have a system in place soon to deal with everything quickly and take on staff for overall moderation.

Thank you for all the support, we have surpassed 2,400 users and counting!

Thank you for the continuing hard work! DREAD is going from strength to strength.

Get over here all you reddit darknetuk people.

And don't forget to send HugBunter some BTC love - the address is found in the "ABOUT" info linked to at the top of "Top Posts".

I was wondering why the site was down. Glad to see it was because of these updates. As for the subdread links, when viewing this post the link right below the title shows "d/Dread", but actually links to "r/Dread".

Wow, missed an easy one there, thanks I'll fix that shortly.

/u/c1ph3r They aren't updated in the database, they are just reformatted when output. Of course this breaks references to Reddit subs, yes, but it needed to be done in order for everyone to start using the new prefix and any old /r/ will not have a broken link of any sort as long as the sub exists here. Or am I missing what you are saying?

I also noticed that anytime someone tries to write /.r/example it gets auto-corrected to /d/example. This also appears to have been applied retroactively throughout the post database. This breaks old posts which refer to subreddits rather than subdreads. When making a new post, omitting the first "/" will of course fix the problem.

That sounds reasonable.

/u/c1ph3r Dang. Seems like not retroactively tweaking and just having it fixed from this point onward/not "fixing" (changing the actual text) the things at all would've been better.

Obviously still including the /d/ support and /r/ redirecting to /d/ or supporting both is still good.

On mobile can you make a tick box to turn off the side bar as when you pinch to zoom the sidebar fills the whole screen

You shouldn't be browsing onion sites via mobile devices for security reasons, which is why it wasn't made mobile friendly in the first place. I will make adjustments soon since a lot of people are moving here from Reddit though.

/u/Wockhardt Definitely true, but the obscure nature of hidden services and the focus I have on security is the reason I am mostly against the use of mobile devices.

/u/HugBunter I think quite a bit of people will want to use it like Reddit more than like a DNMReddit for hating Reddit and its policies.

Drug use alone can lead to subreddits being banned and it's hard to contest cause they suck.

/u/HugBunter This doesn't seem like LE though, but LE could say this in the moment of keeping of the act.

Hello my loves! MDMAmphetamineUSA aka Chapman here...good to see some familiar faces!

I am extremely excited about this site...I have thought that r/darknetmarkets was in danger since the group was 1/10th the size it is now. Last year I actually thought about using my own funds to have a site like this built on the darknet to contribute something to the community, so I am glad that someone with the technical knowledge has done so! Other than the community being at major risk of losing its central hub in an instant, posting on the clearnet poses a huge risk for vendors in particular (which is why you almost never saw me post anything on the clearnet despite being a veteran vendor with thousands of sales). So it seriously brings a tear to my eye to be posting this right now!!!

Anyway, /u/hugbunter I cant even express how grateful both myself and the community are for all of your hard work. =) When I have a major inventory restock in a week or two I plan to announce that we will be taking a % of our profits to make a donation to Dread, I hope this can help compensate you for your work and also help further development to this awesome-tastic platform. You have 10000% the support of Team Chapman!

Love,
Chapman <3

Love the security report /u/HugBunter :)

I have been doing an analysis of dread itself and looking through it and trying to figure out the inner-workings.

I will start posting more too but just been tied up with a few things. I will hopefully get to /d/security soon.

Also, you should do a security report on CGMC next. They are extremely professional for a market and I would even put it up there with Agora or something of the likes. Tochka seems interesting but on the non-security side of things, they have a large amount of scammers.

Hi, I will get round to all the security reports asap, thanks for your words.

I have my CGMC invite ready to go, their staff were in contact when I launched the site so that's all good. Should have them all up over the next few days.
