If it is LE. I have a feeling they're just hackers who done this to show other markets that they should probably pay up or end up like ASNT.

I remember you from when the Monero community was still doing things. Is there no hyc or sarang or anyone on that level around here? I guess the drug affiliation eliminates the top people I suppose. When the $million bounty was put out to crack the monero codebase or when the asics almost 51% the network before they were bricked that glorious march day, there were professionals, guys I knew were the best n knew Thier shit to ask questions of. Do we have nobody like that around here? Asking for the resistance.
/u/[deleted]

I am also looking to be help within the resistance.

My whole thing, from what I have read and seen so far, is that; Chinese or North Korean hackers were DDoSing Archetyp and held it for ransom, then somehow got information about BB and sent that info to the feds. The feds then arrested him with this info.

Is there anyway we could somehow get proof that the Chinese/North Korean hackers sent this to the feds? If so, that would be terrible press, and I imagine the feds would probably back down. I'm not saying Archetyp would come back up, but it would keep a lot of people from going to prison.

If there was a coordinated team, or even uncoordinated team of hackers going after this proof, is there any way they could find it?
LOL. Best theory ever, the North Koreans helping out the feds!

Kim Jong Un: Hey feds, we got the goods on BB
Feds: Never mind that. Give us back all the crypto that you stole or we will capsize your warship again.

Idk, i'm new to the dark web and this is the only thing I can come up with.

Reasoning:

I take all the stuff people say about the site being taken down by LE, with all the clues they found and stuff with the straight apostrophe and curved apostrophe, as 100% true, because I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

The /u/whoisteam person seems to be the one behind the DDoS attacks. They do not seem to be able to type English to well, though it doesn't seem as if they are Indian, it seems as if they are Asian.

Their most recent comment they say: "LEA found his servers, mitigation will take 3 days, we will make sure his servers will be seized again.
Use archetyp and go to prison.
BigBoss, you should have paid." - Which IMO, means they sent anonymous info to the feds and the feds took them down, which correlates with what people are saying about the straight and curved apostrophe stuff

The /u/whoisteam person wrote "I'm a woman, and I don't need drugs to have an orgasm." So I am assuming they are a woman, and a woman hacker in China doesn't seem that likely.

The only other Asian country that would be able to hack at their level would be the North Koreans.

Im new to the dark web though. I'm just happy to be here.
"I'm a woman, and I don't need drugs to have an orgasm."

This comes from the same person vending dildos under an alt account whose profile happened to be on Archetyp. She is just mad that her listings were pulled because Archetyp is drugs only and she claims that they are sexist for allowing cialis sales.

"she" does know that guys also both buy and use dildos, right? Her argument sounds about as coherent as Texas, U.S. saying banning same sex marriage isnt anti-gay because straight people cant do it either. Except Texas was correct, and "she" is bitching about something thats a drug when she wants to sell something no human being can snort.
Definitely is a non issue looking for support.

There are things we won't talk about - I wasn't the only one who tried to help during the first big attack. DDoS, I think the DDoSer himself is surprised by the consequences. What if no one thought about DDoS causing Traffic Correlation? That's the whole result.

HugBunter - just saw the first problem. And he did the right thing by raising the issue right away. But if after that standard forms of arrests and standard pages are not installed, as they always do - then we can conclude that this is just a scammer - who is counting on falsifying the arrest.

As for the moderators - they will not know anything. They have no information.

I once wrote an article about security breaches, everyone is so relaxed that they forgot where they are and what they are doing - remember this is not the end, everyone who built the markets - thinking that improvements in security breaches are good - will soon be there too. We need to remember the times when administrators cared more about security than design or clearlink links - or the distribution of unique links onion.

FYI, the most likely person doing this is /u/whoisteam

And most likely /u/whoisteam is Chinese or North Korean hackers

They are also responsible for taking Archetyp down.
More likely they just are seeking attention. Notice that AFTER Archetyp went into maintenance mode that person posted that archetyp should have paid them which proves two things.

1. That Arch was successful mitigating their alleged ddos without paying them the first time
2. That they did not see the maintenance mode coming or they would have posted another warning immediately prior to it taking effect.
/u/[deleted]

Are they the ones that are behind the recent DDoS attacks on Archetyp?

And now that all of this info has come out, Dread is starting to get hit, as if they don't want this info to be spread at all.

Seems wacky for sure.

I hope Archetyp comes back up, all the other DNM's have really bad UI.
They claimed the original ddos attacks which YGW circumvented so they just mad. Too funny to now claim to be behind the downtime. Yeah, and my buying sent btc to 100k. Easy to predict the past.

Dread was already down for over a month when he decided to pull that. It was his best opportunity, he pulled it when I announced that we need some more time but we are nearly ready to relaunch. Prior to this I was shutting down all the bullshit he was using to manipulate everyone that had went unchecked for far too long in my absence. To the point where he was planning to launch a replacement of Dread in his control and then likely pay for attacks against us to try and migrate everyone somewhere he could censor any warnings of his exit.

anybody know the fate of Desnake? i remember sitting vigil on the Alphabay forum hanging on to EvZens every word. he was doing much like Newbie is doing and filling everyones pipe full of pure hopium. if anybodys noticed the amount of subscribers from alphabay to asap and bohemia and incognito now archetyp show a decline. i wonder if too many customers get burnt they just never come back to the darkweb. very sad. was very sad when Dread went down last time too before DeSnake bit everyone in the ass and said bitch you i was DeSnake. then i was bothering Hugbunter on Reddit for a min. sorry rambling on about nothing like an asshole
/u/anwarbinibrahim

The original DeSnake was Alexander Cazes who committed suicide in a Thailand prison. The re-incarnated DeSnake was certainly not Alexander Cazes but a personnel from the Royal Thailand Police who impersonated DeSnake. I know how corrupt Thailand police and military are, so they prevented to revive AlphaBay and then did an exit scam. Never trust a defunc market operator who claims to have returned just to revive an old market that was busted by the law enforcement agents.

well be cause the law enforcement agents wouldn't want to spoilt their honeypot. and knocking dread offline would quiet a lot of the chatter and warnings and get more people to log in carelessly. One could speculate that the ongoing ddos'ing of arch is related and was used to de-anonymize & find BigBoss and that same ddos'er could train their lasers on dread to keep word from spreading baout the honeypot.

I really hope the word has spread by now and no one logs in to that site. Why would they keep the site partially online? They could shut it down and don't even have to post the seizure notice. They are spending resources to keep it up. They are leaving it up for -some reason-. I feel bad for the desperate people who will login to withdraw coin because who knows what kind of 0days the LE has. Remember the black marble attack. We know they are trying to break monero privacy.

worried about auto-extend and withdraw like everyone else. Same fears. Been down a bit and worried LE is breaking deals with people to bring it up again. How do we trust if it does come back up. No answers. Just got to take it one step at a time. Pro is that Archetyp has been up for so long it being down for a while is not unsurprising.Just cross you fingers. And watch the price of crypto... It is going up and down and I do not know what that means. If it comes back up make some small purchases.

Also, what are the best alternative for small purchases from big sites. I really am just and Archetyp with a little Abacus in there.

I feel sad there are people who love to waste their time and effort to DDOS a great service like Dread Forum, which advocates a scam-free Internet.

These attackers could donate the money they spend in DDOSing a great service like Dread to help improve Dread Forum.

Find it odd that DOS attacks and then they announce the arrest and seizure of archetyp, do you think it's LE trying to stop the spreading of information?

In your opinion who is doing this DoS attacks? what is the purpouse? maybe Law Enforcement? But if there is not a definitive shutdown what sense does it have?

Unlikely, it was a low powered attack in comparison to others. Usually its just attempts to take us down and they try to change the attack around before giving up.

so no LE . but some group with low resources but then who? You better than everyone should have an idea or a suspicion about who is behind it, I know that without evidence is not wise to speak but the curiosity isstrong, there are so many interests in this forum and in the Darkweb in general. Information is the key but who the fuck outside big brother will want to censor information. And since you replied to my comment could you explain to me what benefit would there be in a temporary Dread Shutdown who would take something out of it? expecially if you know you gonna fail and after the shutdown archetyp is a little bit strange . thanks HugBunter and greetings

No idea, I don't even think about who it might be anymore, just as long as we can solve it and stay online and who knows the reasoning... this is how it has been for a long time, years

/u/HugBunter,

I've been wondering, how much did DS donate that this many years later only 1 user has donated more than him. And I think he was still the top donator up until fairly recently.

I've always found it curious that he would make what had to be a significant donation, while also being believed to fund the DoS Attacks.

Anyways, thanks for all your hard work and time dedicated to the community.

I actually checked this not long ago I think it was between 8-10k iirc. He only donated to us to manipulate Paris into believing he was trying to help us rather than attacking us.

I thought us being under DDOS attack was the norm. Regardless we appreciate the hard and tireless work you do in keeping us up and running.
