Elysium Market -- People are stuck with a lot of money and deserve an update : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

Hey everyone, as we all know the folks behind Elysium Market pulled their accounts and switched their sub to invite-only about two days ago. All their links are still down, and Hug mentioned he’d give it 24 hours in the pinned post on the DNM sub https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNCdmMzUXZaams1TkRVd1kyTXpPREE0Wm1WbFpqZzBORFk9#

2 days later buyers and sellers haven’t received any clarification on what’s going on. Will there be an official announcement and if so, when? People are stuck with a lot of money.

For those who didn’t know, Elysium was a probationary superlist market.

Is there any official word on what happened? Silent exit scam? Compromised?

People are stuck with a lot of money.

Wait, they've exited with the entire 2 XMR in escrow?

Dread users seem to be slow with sarcasm. Not the first time. Sad.

I saw some guy saying he lost 7 XMR, so I assume there are probably a lot more. At first glance, they seemed fishy with their 1-3% or 0-3% commission don't really remember but too low to be viable. But that’s not the main point of the post. I’m just hoping we get a proper update on the situation soon.

Agreed, also want to know what happened to Elysium. Still think an exit scam is unlikely.

We applied for a vendor account and then couldn't get online due to DDOS / exit scam. Bullet dodged 😎

It is not a silent exit scam by the time users noticed that. Hopefully, Elysium was not a trend market so the losses are limited.

Exactly. Darknet markets can be scam quickly. Superlist markets also.

my guess would be that the arch takedown freaked them out, a lot like when kingdom got seized and one of the supermarket admins drained the wallet. they wearn't big enough to have a good exit scam, they were just about to make the supermarket list and be taken seriously but then arch went down and when you see a peer of what you do go down like that you realize that it could happen to you, I dont think they were big enough to be on LEs radar but I do think they got scared OR they saw that they may have made similar mistakes to arch and decided to be safe than sorry. just my theory...

I had never used Elysium market beyond creating an account to check it. My understanding is that it wasn't such a big market, in terms of number of vendors and users, which as an isolated piece of information, weighs in building my opinion that this wasn't a premeditated exit scam. Some comments you can check about in previous Dread posts had raised the hypothesis that someone hacked them, and thus trying to avoid getting doxxed, the whole market admin staff has panicked and tried to cut themselves as much as possible from being traced to their real life persona.

I, for one, do not know if either Hugbunter or some other more veteran user in Dread may have some more information to share about these succession of events, but it should be safe to infer that the market is not going to come back, and all of you that had any money in their accounts' wallets, or pending sales for confirmation, should write it off as a loss.
