Heard days back, happy about it. No health regulations in Thailand made every other grower use toxic banned PGRs to achieve higher yield, thicker buds, not cured from chemicals, most vendors stuck that chem shit up customer's ass and call it Cali exo. Many ended up with various health & mental issues. thai buds are major fail, so see this a good move.
I hate to say it, but there is a lot of dirty weed produced in the US as well and it's not just black market weed. There are many ways to circumvent the required state testing like just submitting a sample that you know is clean instead of a sample of the actual dirty weed that is going to be sold. The state isn't the one that collects the sample, the producers get to pick what they submit. Sometimes the lab just gets paid off to provide the certs.
Just wanted to mention that because legal weed does NOT mean you can be certain it's free of pesticides and other chemicals. I think the bigger the operation, the higher the chance of the product being sprayed because they simply have so much money on the table they're like... yeah nuke the fucking plants or we risk losing everything. When I get a sick plant, a little powdery mildew, some mold, bugs, whatever, if I can't treat it quickly and easily, into the compost it goes. The whole plant. No big deal.
But if you have 1000 plants in beds in a greenhouse, you don't really have that option. Once one plant gets sick, they all get sick because it's typically all the same strain and they're planted very close together. You can't just compost an entire greenhouse or indoor room without losing your shirt or maybe your head if you're not the boss.
True. But most US vendors have their products lab tested and advertised accordingly. Recently there has been a surge in weed vendors shipping thai weed. They're a dime a dozen. I never said US/canada weed can't be pgr sprayed doo doo. But the chances you get that will be lower compared to now. This change will bring back some kind of quality control which is an overall win.
Another plus is the market won't be flooded with these thai buds. There will be a good chance we find decent weed, if not from one source, another will definitely have it. Right now because of how cheap and easily available these products are no one is really investing in bringing down good product because they have no incentive to. I hope this helps you understand my sentiments.

Check this out when you can. When you see some of the names and what they popped for, it's pretty eye opening. They bought like 150 pounds of weed and tested it for hundreds of chemicals and pesticides.
The whole lab testing circus here is not as reliable as one would hope. A lot of labs are simply pay-to-play. Turn your dirty weed clean only $20k cash in a paper bag at your lab appointment!
I haven't really seen or heard of a single grower I've met or heard about here using PGR's. In most cases I've seen it's the pesticides that are the dirty secret.
Yeah, where Thailand creates a vacuum. People will show up with weed to fill the vacuum. That's for damn sure. I hope to be one of them!
I totally understand where you're coming from. It was a similar relief for stroners here when Northern California took over the US cannabis market and the Mexican brick seeded stuff went out the window in just a couple years.
Markets can be difficult when product comes along that undercuts everything else so bad that the good stuff dries up. What a great day when the dank comes back!
