Free Onion Hosting for Noobs : HiddenService | Torhoo darknet markets

If this post isn't allowed on this subdread let me know where it should go and I'll move it.

I have spare resources on a server of mine so I've decided to give back to the community by giving out free hosting slots. This project is geared towards people who don't know how to host their own server and just want to run a simple website.

Here's what you get:
1. Two onion URLs (one for management, one for public access)
2. SSH access
3. PHP 8.2.20
4. nginx 1.22.1
6. 1 CPU core @ 3.07 GHz
7. 1 GB of RAM
8. 20 GB of storage (10 GB used by system, 10 GB free)
9. Best effort technical support
10. Best effort uptime
11. Best effort resource usage
12. Security provided by Whonix

By "best effort" I mean that things may not be perfect, but I'll try my best as a server administrator. Keep in mind it's also completely free.

To get started, add a PGP public key to your profile on Dread. From there you can send me a direct message detailing your use case for the service. If I deem your usage appropriate I will respond with your server credentials encrypted to your PGP public key.

There's nothing to pentest. It's just a default whonix-workstation virtual machine with nginx, PHP, and SSHd installed.

Uh, so you are running the workstation VM only, where is the gateway and there is obviously still some security concerns here. Are you running a single gateway per workstation? Are you routing each VM through it's own gateway VM or sharing them?

Using KVM there's a single Whonix-Gateway and multiple Whonix-Workstations. The workstations are isolated from each other using custom Whonix-Firewall settings. I checked curl.anondist-orig and ssh.anondist-orig and monitored tcpdump from another workstation to see if workstations could talk to each other. They could not.

If you need high security, this is not the place to look. This is a "best effort" operation.

FYI, anything on the dw will need to be "high security" as you may not think you need pen-testing, but I can promise you 20 others are going to do it with malicious intent. I would HIGHLY caution against a single gateway and multiple workstations... regardless of what you think you see in TCPDump doesn't mean a leak cannot be opened due to the multiple workstations. Be careful, and goodluck.

How did you manage to install whonix (workstation + gateway) on a remote server with only SSH access?

Perhaps you should outline what content you will and won't host?

Is it safe for you to do this? Curious because I want to do similar. Can it be traced to you somehow? (ISPs, etc)
