Full Stack Dev Needs Help with Marketing & Promo : murderhomelesspeople | Torhoo darknet markets

This sub is for IRL I understand, but my question is slightly adjacent to IRL. I’m a full-stack developer with a lot of experience building and maintaining medium-sized e-commerce sites. Lately I've been developing for a lot of cannabis and CBD sites for clients. I use bulletproof hosting and robust security protocols to ensure seamless operation. Time to launch my own sites. BUT, how to market/promote? Clients wont share that information with me.

Some data from existing sites developed and maintained by me:

Traffic Sources: ~60% of traffic comes from direct URL inputs. So no blackhat PPC is being used
Traffic Volume: 20k to 300k visits per month.
CVR: 6% to 13%.
AOV: ~$129.
With that data you can extrapolate the revenue I'm seeing and that they are not using any form of paid advertising that uses linking.

Despite knowing how to build and maintain these sites, I lack the puzzle piece on how clients are promoting/marketing them. Traditional PPC like Google AdWords is not an option and existing clients aren't using any sort of creative ways around that. So, how are they driving this traffic? How can I get traffic to my own site?

I have a suspicion as to what how they may be promoting, but I don't want to type it because it may skew what you come up with. I'll share my idea later. I'd like your thoughts on it first.

I already have order fulfillment set up with vendors I already work with and have history with, etc etc. I just need the highly targeted traffic.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Classic dev thought process; "I built it, why aren't they coming?" Have you tried rebooting your money printer?

Just teasing. No links coming in that you've seen, but how about promo codes? What's the other 40%? First thought is a rudimentary affiliate program but I suspect you'd see some clues. You can't underestimate plain ol' WOM, though. If the product is well-liked enough, even a niche product could spur a growth loop bringing in that kind of revenue.

Just curious, why would they want to do that? Anyway, you bothered to type this up so I'm curious what you've found via OSINT. If you just google CBD-for-yr-golden-doodle dot us or whatever the domain is, what are you seeing? How about on social media? Reddit? Discord? On the information superhighway there's always room for a new patch of astroturf.

Hey! If I wanted to be teased I'd go back to high school :) Thanks for the response. I've had a strong suspicion as to where the bulk of the traffic was coming from. I've basically confirmed it using the super sophisticated technique of...just asking 10 customers during customer service back and forth messaging "...by the way, from where did you -"). My suspicion was correct: the golden traffic is actually "green".
