Gajim/jabber account creation issue : techsupport | Torhoo darknet markets

Hi maybe this is super easy but I'm trying to setup Gajim and OMEMO on tails and I can't seem to make a account for jabber. Is it a server issue? what am I doing wrong? Thanks!

It's not just you — many public Jabber servers are either down, rate-limited, or rejecting new registrations due to abuse/spam.

When using Tails and Gajim, it's best to pick a server that still allows anonymous or in-client registration. Some options:

jabber.calyxinstitute.org (doesn’t allow in-client registration, use their site)

jabbers.one

jabberes.org

Alternatively, use a website like https://xmpp.net or https://compliance.conversations.im to find working servers.

Pro tip: Some servers block Tor exit nodes, so try enabling bridges in Tails or using a different circuit.

Hope that helps — setting up Gajim on Tails can be tricky but once it’s running, it’s solid

It's been a while since I've logged in. Last time I was around, calyxinstitute was down for weeks, with nobody communicating on their side. Is it back up again? Are our old accounts still valid? Hope it's true!

Can you update me? I haven't tried to log into my (newer) XMPP yet. What happened to
auzbdiguv5qtp37xoma3n4xfch62duxtdiu4cfrrwbxgckipd4aktxid.onion
? Still functional, or it's a goner?

Thanks

I had the same problem. I switched to gnu.gr. Make sure to use it for both the domain AND the server connect. Registering in-client works, but I also did it thru their site directly. Super easy and works great
