GPG Clients For Different Operating Systems : pgppractice | Torhoo darknet markets

Just some information for those who don't use Kleopatra, the built-in GPG client in Tails for their PGP needs. Please feel free to comment on this thread with other OS or GPG/PGP offerings. I'll do my best to keep up the list.

Please NOTE - This is not an endorsement of Windows or Mac OS for DN use. These resources are listed for informational purposed in case someone is without the ability to run Tails or better as their DN OS, or needs PGP for non-DN purposes.

Mac OS - GPGTools @ https://gpgtools.org

Windows - GPG4WIN @ https://gpg4win.org

For Developers (NOTE - Listed for high-knowledge people only):

A special Thank You to https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlNHVmhaRXBoYm1sMGIzST0=# fo the idea. :)
I want everyone to know that because I am into Cryptography and encryption I check for updates daily and if there are any I post them at /d/GnuPG.

These two (2) softwares are approved by The GnuPG Project as there are many, many dangerous encryption suites out there that use deprecated algorithms or eccentric ways of parsing and compiling and do not have a sound library of dependencies.

Just remember to NEVER use an ONLINE PGP tool. Of course, there are more never-to-dos, but I want to keep this comment short and simple.

Development version with the latest features:

https://dev.gnupg.org/source/gnupg/

I'm sure it It can be compiled for GNU and OS X. Probaly windows too, but I'm not certain.
Some GNU/Linux distributions maintain their own development versions, eg. in the AUR or GURU.

And winsucks users can use it from WSL too I think, that might work better than a cross-compiled version.
Already compiled. Will provide links each time.

For MacOS users, there´s a pre-built Kleopatra GnuPG GUI they can install by using the brew toolset:

Oh, I forgot. Not that it would be recommended for Tor usage, but there is a nice GUI that combines GnuPG and keys management for Android: OpenKeychain, available in both F-Droid and Google Play Store - https://www.openkeychain.org/

Openkeychain is developed 100% independently from gnupg.

There are sufficient issues with privacy regarding online PGP systems I won't be listing them in this thread. Want to discourage people from using phones for DN activities. Yes, I know a lot of people do so. The OpSec issues are still sufficient to me to keep such apps out of this thread.

Fair enough, but then why do you add iOS ?

Umm... Is iOS a phone OS? I'm honestly not at all familiar with phones, so if it is such then please do let me know.

Yes and only for iPhones. The same way iPadOS is exclusively for iPads. iPadOS has different features such as multitasking (with split screen) that iOS doesn't have.

Lots of people use pgp outsite the darknet, just see how many keys are on keyserver.ubuntu.com or pgp.mit.edu.

Well, mate, the focus of dread is DN in nature, and I'm going to limit this thread to DN use on ordinary computers (or extraordinary in the case of Qubes/Whonix ;) ).

It's still end to end encryption. It's still securing your own keys. Julian Assange and Snowden weren't heavy on DW matters, yet PGP was their Bible.

Kleopatra can be used on Windows too, not just Mac and Linux. I would basically default to that if you've never used PGP before. With Linux you can just use GNU privacy assistant.

For added security, you should always opt for secure repository downloads when possible. This means using winget for Windows, brew for Mac, and apt for Linux. This way packages are automatically verified by their signatures instead of downloading from some website. On Linux (maybe on Windows and Mac too, idk) you could further harden this package installing process by using only mirrors that support https.
