has anyone had issues with paper taped packages? : DankNation | Torhoo darknet markets

Lately, I've had many different weed packs opened and had product stolen. The orders were from 2 different sellers that I have a long history with and 2 different drop addresses. I never fuck around with my opsec. The sellers always came through for me after I showed them unboxing videos and resent the product.

All that being said, every package that was stolen from had paper tape instead of regular packaging tape. Last week, I had a normal package arrive whose contents were clearly stolen. This package was legal and pretty worthless, but the box had paper tape. Is it possible they (LE or thieves) are targeting these boxes if they've seen a rise in this type of stealth?
CHANCES ARE the thief is using papaer tape, not the vendor.
Bummer about the missing gear. I've considered using paper tape just to switch up how my packs look, so I'm glad to find your post here.

Wondering if either:

A. Paper tape is more easily removed and replaced without damaging the packaging.

or

B. Paper tape is what the theif had onhand and perhaps was not what the vendor originally packed the order with.

Did you confirm with the vendor that they did in-fact use the paper tape to pack it up?

The paper tape is never removed with care. The thieves cut the box open with a knife and then reseal with normal tape over the clearly cut paper tape. I had one pack where an lb of weed and 10g of crumble were stolen, but they left a 1000g litter of distillate... it makes we curious whether it could be LE or if the thief just panicked and wanted to leave some weight? Idk.

The vendors definitely shipped with paper tape
Oh, I see what you mean. The fact that there wasn't any effort to hide the fact that the original tape was cut leads me to think it's not LE doing this. If it was LE, I do not believe they would have allowed any of the contents to be delivered. Like if they were wanting to set you up, this is not how it would be done.

Could be a postal worker not wanting to deliver an empty box, but even that seems off. A thief is a thief and they're not known for leaving valuables behind. They could have replaced the contents with literally anything and claimed ignorance if questioned.

Couple other possibilities could be that the thief is the vendor's shipper and this happened before the pack was even shipped.

Or

Perhaps it was originally packed like this in order to make it look like a theft-in-transit.

But maybe that doesn't make sense if it was two different vendors and different drops, unless the 2 vendors are in-fact the same outfit working under 2 different names.

Does anyone know you get your supply in the mail? Any friends, customers, roommates, neighbors that might be tampering with your mail before you receive it? Business partner even? Are the boxes dropped on your porch and left there for any length of time before you get your hands on it?

If you don't have cameras at the drop, setting a couple up when you're expecting packs would reveal the issue if it's happening after delivery.

The chances of these vendors being the same operation is basically zero.

I agree, it's very weird that they left the distillate behind. Especially since it was the most expensive thing in the box. They even left the ripped open vacuum and mylar bags behind from the stuff they did steal.

Only 2 people know about my drops and they stand to lose way more from stealing from me than our current operation and one of the raided packs did have delivery caught on video.
I think it would have to be happening while in the mail stream then. Do your drops all share the same local post office where the mail is dispatched from?

If so, I'd say it's probably at the local office where this is happening. If all your packs are originating in CA, it's probably easy to spot the packs if you have an idea of what you've looking for just starting with everything coming from California. The trash being left in the pack could be explained by the postal worker not wanting to leave the evidence laying around or even in the trash at work. So it just gets stuffed back in the box and on the way. They know you can't really file any kind of complaint on the matter so there's no need to hide what's happened or that it's been tampered with from the receiver.

If your drops have different local post offices, then perhaps it's on the sending side. There are probably thousands of weed packs leaving CA by mail every single day. It can't be any secret to the postal workers there. But I think it would be harder to profile on the sending side. On the receiving end, like I said just inspecting anything from CA will group all the weed packs together. Then you can narrow it down further by shaking, size of box, weight, etc. Then open what you think has the highest chance of being weed.

That sucks man. Super violating and I'd be pissed. If you can, setup a drop that uses a different local office. If it continues, that could mean it's happening at a hub. Same thing would apply as far as profiling. Starting with CA packs and going from there.

Maybe spending a little extra to have the stuff hidden well in decoys would help. If it doesn't fit the profile of the packs that typically have weed in them, it may well be overlooked. You can also see about Fedex/UPS service as an alternative, but you're probably already familiar with the additional concerns that come with private couriers.

Thank you for all your input!!
paper tape is what they're using to retape the pack after stealing it.

and it might mean its the same thieves if the same tape is showing up on empty shit.

I just had my pack broken into as well for the first time. PAX is doing me a solid by resending but I honeslty expect the same thing to happen unless they aggressively wrap it with packing tape (UPDATE 3: NO RESHIPMENT SENT, Possibly poor opsec).
Potpacks would make it damn near bullet proof with tape on the outside then 4-5 layers on the inside so there was no grab and go- it took time to get into.

I want to believe that makes a difference but I think the postal service workers in CA know what to look for and are fearless. I hope you reported the legal package theft. Hitting those workers with big charges is the only way it will stop.
