so i've never done this before , but i would like to start volumetric dosing - so i'm planning on getting alp, brom, clonz powder , and im either going to do just PG or PG(water+eth) , i'm just curious on how much of a substance i would need along with the solution to make the concentration 1mg/1ml or 2mg/2ml - also how should it be mixed and heated?
For the concentration you mentioned, it's 1:1 ratio. Meaning, you'd need to mix 1mg of your chosen compound with 1ml of solvent.
PG is fine. Take your substance, weigh it, write down the amount. Measure out an equal amount of solvent in ml - so if you're aiming for 1mg/ml and you weigh out 200mg of powder, you would use 200ml of your chosen solvent. Mix the two, stir stir stir until all the powder has disappeared. It's very important you make sure ALL the powder dissolves, otherwise what you have is not a solution, but a suspension with hot spots. No bueno.
If you have trouble getting it dissolved, some heat can help. Do NOT apply direct heat. Instead, heat up a pot of water, partly submerge your glass container containing the powder + solvent, and stir more. To visualize it: you're holding a glass jar/bottle in one hand, while it's half submerged in the hot water, and you stir with the other hand.
Keep stirring until you're sure it's all dissolved. Then stir some more. Then let it sit, cause all the stirring is going to create air bubbles in your solutions and it will be hard to tell if all the powder is dissolved. After half an hour or so the air should be out, so have a good look to make sure all the powder is dissolved. If it is, you're done. Shake REALLY well before every use and enjoy.
If you still see powder, stir more. If stirring more doesn't help, apply heat and stir more. If THAT doesn't help, add some more solvent (not powder, only solvent) and stir - if you do this however, you'll need to recalculate your solution strength.
There is no dumb questions when it comes to dosing, heres the general approach on volumetric dosing, with a bit of science and simple words so you get it ; you need a volume and "something to be diluted in the volume" that is in the same range of measurement , like miligram for mililiters.
So first step Decide the volume of solution you want to prepare (since its a liquid measurement are in mL if you wanna dose mgs of benzos, or liters if you wanna dose grams of benzos).
Multiply the desired concentration (mg/mL or g/L) by the volume (mL for mg/ml or Liters for g/L) to get the mass of substance needed (since the substance is powder , measurements are in mg if you manipulate mL , or grams if you wish to mix Liters of PG ).
The general formula is this one:
Mass of solute= Concentration×Volume
Now to answer you concretly with your example (fictive measures), preparing 1L of a solution volumetrically dosed of 1g alp + 1g brom + 1g clonz will look like this :
- 1000mg Alp + 1000mg Brom +1000mg Clonz
- 1000mL of PG
So it means you will mix 3000mg/1000ml (3 grams in 1L)
= The concentration would be 3g/L
When you say that to someone concretly it means if he put 100ml of this 1 liter solution in a syringe the syringe will contain 0.3g of products (if you mixed it heavenly and all the powder is soluble in the solution ofc!) Easy :)
Second part for heating and mixing you have to be aware of the following :
- Is the solvent polar or apolar? (Some substance mixes in polar solvents some in non polar)
- If you use more than 1 solvent in the solution do they mix together under previous question condition?
Then
For your solvent : What is the boiling point of the solvent ? For example PG is 188.2 °C (370.8 °F). This is the temperature at which propylene glycol transitions from liquid to vapor.
For your powder : Is the powder soluble in X solvent ? If yes : no problem
If no : search the melting point. The melting point of a substance is the temperature at which a solid turns into a liquid
By adjusting melting point temperature of the substance , you should be able to "transform the solid, unsoluble substance" into a "liquid, (more) soluble substance" if your solvent is capable of diluting it or if the solvent struggled to dilute it in normal condition, but under some heat will be capable of, very common with PG and other "oily" vegetal solvents
BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING :
If using a flammable solvent , NO DIRECT HEAT (PG is fine , but PG being PG its not toxic , not flammable so no problem with ignition but by definition it produces lot of smoke as you may know so control the temperature if you dont wan't to turn your lab into a human size vape pen)
so should i use like 70% pg and 20% water? even though flualp isnt water soluble , so i would need to put my glass of mixture into a pot of hot water and continue stirring
so for example if i buy 500mg of flualp and want to make the ratio 1:1 would i get 100mg of flualp and 100ml of pg and then heat them up and stir until powder is gone?
I have found some data for you since im not an expert in benzo/tranquilizers, Flualp has limited solubility in water but dissolves in various organic solvents.
Solubility in common solvents:
DMSO: 20 mg/mL
Ethanol: 10 mg/mL
DMF: 30 mg/mL
DMF:PBS (pH 7.2) (1:1): 0.50 mg/mL
Flualprazolam and other benzodiazepines are generally not very soluble in water, especially at a neutral pH
While solubility might increase under acidic conditions, this is not recommended for safety reasons in certain environments
So for ethanol, which is the most common solvent you can find and the one i recommend (pure one) 10mg/ml means for each 1ml of ethanol the solvent can absorb volumetrically 10mg of substance. Going past this like wanting to put 20mg of substance in 1ml will result in creating hotspot/coldspot somewhere in your solution and will be unsafe.
100ml of PG for 100mg of alp (trust your vendor)
100ml of PG for 100mg brom (not sure of any domestic vendor that hasnt run out yet)
100ml of PG for 100mg clobromazolam , i'm sure you mean? If you think you're buying clonazolam you are not. They are however very similar in potency by weight
will take time/days to dissolve but heat and agitation/shaking will speed it up
okay so ive chose to do flualp and so all i need to do is get PG and measure out 100ml ang get my flualp and dose out 100mg combine and start stirring, if in a glass jar submerge in hot water and continue stirring and occasonally shaking making sure it's completely gone
whoa, if you are getting clonazolam powder you best be wary of what you're getting sent
its extremely uncommon, and AFAIK, mostly pressed into pills by this point or only available to buy $9k/kg from a sketchy Chinese vendor who claims "its such a close analogue no one will know the difference"
we can dream that the DEA decides its not a threat to public health and doesn't choose to schedule it forever next month. but i'm in denial about it: there's no real chance the DEA would avoid perm scheduling a group of drugs which includes etizolam
