Does anyone know if they just scan the id and keep a copy in their database or if they actually check the data on it? I used to use a completely random id to buy crypto, a real one tho with real data, then one time it didnt work also taking all the cash, when i messaged the support they said that the person at the atm didnt match the id, so i guess they have a system to see if the faces match? but it worked a lot of times before that, any help is appreciated

Pretty bizarre question - you answered it for yourself but also asked again? Always assume they're checking when it's within reach of anyone who knows how to type 'license checker' into app store.
