BTC to XMR is not anonymous. It never was.

The XMR you spend afterwards is though.

I presume you're running Feather Wallet for tails, in which case a new address is automatically applied to each transaction.

To add extra addresses click the "Add Address" button.

I'm afraid nothing is truly anonymous anymore

It depends how much of a target you are.

-First off, the first purchase of $BTC at the ATM was somehat anonymous, especially if it was only like a couple grand.

-They can't easily know who's wallet you sent the Bitcoin to. Did you send the cash to somebody or yourself?

-They have a record of the addresses that swapped $BTC for $XMR

-They wont easily gain further info after the $XMR is funneled into different addresses.

From my understanding, unless the Monero node is compromised & you are a high level terrorist, then you are good!

Bruv, How stupid are you?

Nobody cares about your $15.

You purchased the $BTC "anonymously" from an atm.

Then you recieved the $BTC in your wallet "anonymously" through TOR by using Electrum Tails.

You swapped the $BTC for XMR, and then the lead is lost after that.

With Monero you generate new addresses every time. So unless you're a big baller & law enforcement has your Monero Node compromised, theres no incentive for law enforcement to spend money catching you.

You want to make sure you get it to an offline wallet in XMR before sending it to say a DNM Vendor for an order. Exchange (BTC) --> Offline Wallet (like Electrum) on Tails OS --> Swap BTC for XMR to another wallet - like Cake Wallet on another device ---> XMR in Wallet ready to spend

You should be fine like this, if you are like a small time buyer. If you are a bigger buyer or vender, likely more needs to be done in terms of tumbling (more XMR swapping)..

You'll be fine. Once exchanged for XMR your coins can't be traced. Doesn't mean you're bulletproof. But your transactions will be hidden..

Don't use open monero. The site is either
a) a scam, or
b) managed by someone so impossibly incompetent that it's almost unbelievable.

Just learn retoswap, or for crypto you might as well use any generic no-kyc exchanger...

I swear the longer I look at this site the worse it gets lol..... openmonero[.]com/markets just shows every single trade that's been done on the site publicly?? Talk about "anonymous". Jesus christ

Which table do you think is too much? I still can't get over how haveno.markets shows both the time and amount (XMR) for each trade, which could allow timing attacks and hurt user privacy. On the other hand, openmonero.markets doesn’t show any trade times or amounts.

obfuscation is pointless and is not the same as encryption: http://dreadytofatroptsdj6io7l3xptbet6onoyno2yv7jicoxknyazubrad.onion/post/be82f1a0c5e0f79f6dbb/#c-6904a6f8269fb60f9a

To perform a timing attack, someone needs to know the exact amount of money and when it was transferred.

For example, openmonero.markets only shows the date (no time), price (which is different from the amount withdrawn), and payment method. This information isn't helpful for timing attacks because the attacker needs to see the actual amount that was taken out of a KYC exchange. Without knowing the specific amount, they can't link it to a trade on another exchange. Since this crucial information isn't visible publicly on openmonero.markets, such an attack isn't possible.
