How to host/use nodes storage effectively? : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets

So recently I have been trying to find out safe ways to exchange to XMR. Luckily this wasn't too hard and the Monero guide and the DNM guide helped me quite a lot. The only thing I really stumbled upon was the fact that you should never send your XMR to a market without going through a (preferably new) adress on your own wallet located in Tails. Because I rather not risk 3rd party wallets sharing information like I believe Cake did to Chainalsys who then forwarded it to the FBI. So I picked just the official Monero wallet GUI application. Only to realise it is quite significantly safer to host/store nodes on your own or at least a part of the nodes. Unfortunately these take up a lot of space and from what I have seen all the explanations use a 2nd ssd/usb. Now I dont have this and even if i could use the flash USB i would only have 30GB of space.

This leads me to question 1: Could I somehow someway host the nodes or at least a part of them, on the harddisk of a laptop? (This would be the same laptop that Tails would run on).

Since I couldn't find a good answer on this question by scouering guides and forums I found something else including Public nodes and VPS (I will be honest that I haven't dug really deep on this topic). The only thing was most guides I used previously did not include these or had links to a sister guide with an invalid onion link.

This leads me to question 2: Are there any good guide's or straight up answers on how to maximize safety while not hosting nodes yourself?

I am hoping to learn more and would appreciate a help out :).

yes you can. Using a pruned node it will be less than 90Go. Using an ssd is very very recommended. Check the FAQ to find the guide to setup a node on Tails (it goes to a reddit post).

Question 2: Use a community owned onion node and connect to it from tails. This way even if it's logging every transactions, they will be linked only to an random exit tor relay.

Oh alright thanks! I was under the impression only pluggable ssd's we're able to be used. I assume using a pruned node is safer then using a community node?

Yes using a prunned node is a lot safer.
