I had never heard of it, so I just did a little research.
It sounds like it is used to imitiate the terpene profile of different strains and then give the end smoke a different flavour.
Sounds like a good idea, if you have had a grow that isnt as good as anticipated and changing the terpene profile could increase profit/turnover.
This is only a bandaid solution, I would mosdef be keeping it on the down low, as your customers, may not be return customers, if they find out they have paid $x for advertised Strain A, but paid same $x for Strain B, what they received, didnt match what they purchased.
Obviously, the root cause is to grow the correct plants for you target audience, instead of imitating another strain.
