1/ Something I ordered from the West Coast was shipped last Monday(june 30). Delivery was delayed, with no tracking updates for almost 3 days over the weekend. I assumed it was due to the holiday.

2/ This morning, tracking finally updated to “Delivered.” But after checking security cameras—nothing arrived. No delivery attempts from anyone.

3/ A friend called the local store and asked about the tracking. They said:

“This tracking number was never going to your address.”
It was delivered somewhere else, but they refused to give the delivery address due to “security reasons.”

4/ I double-checked the label the vendor sent me—everything is correct. Name, address, zip, etc.

So what happened here?

5/ Later tonight, I checked Informed Delivery, and—there were never any scans of the tracking number tied to my address. At all.

6/ The vendor has now blocked me on Threema.
I’ve given him until midday today to respond and make this right.

7/ Unfortunately, this was an off-market deal worth around $12,000. I have no connection to any drop, and I trusted the process.

8/ Posting this to raise awareness and possibly get insight from others who’ve experienced something similar. What do you think is going on here?
Should I be worried?

Will blast the vendor every single day if he does not make it right by end of day today.

Some vendors will selectively scam people when they see an opportunity to get away with it, large transactions off market are exactly what selective scammers want. They will fulfill on market orders, and small off market orders, building trust, even selling deals at cost price or a loss to increase the appeal, waiting for an order like this so they can make their money.

Its a lucrative business model if done right, off market dealing means they dont get a bad review and can likely keep doing this to other people.

Never deal outside the markets, they do offer protection and keep everyone accountable, it wont be quite as cheap, but its worth it for the peace of mind IMO.

to add to your point, the first deal we did - he shipped a good amount first and I paid after delivery. After that it was, I only paid first. Second order (this one) looking like a selective scam.

Regardless, if they dont make it right by end of day - I will be blasting them everywhere on dread EVERY SINGLE DAY.

You got finessed.
Vendor probably gave you tracking for something else never destined for you to maintain some plausibility.
Worried ?
Shouldn't be as he never sent shit in the first place.
That's why you never deal off markets or without escrow protection.
First they build trust and then they burn.

Ill be blasting him by end of day if he does not make it right. But I totally get it.
