I hate that if I make a response I get an instant notification of this fuck telling me some built in response that makes it unclear why it is complaining to me. This needs to be fixed because how many times things get flagged because it is simple word filters is stupid, and provides no reason why it was waiting for approval, or why automod responded without removing my shit but told me a poem about nuns pissing in an alley or something stupid.

It's absolutely irritating. I'm thankful for another premium link so I can look if my post was pending moderation.
I believe if your post is pending moderation once you have X score (X is up for debate, above 50 I'd say) you are notified that your post is pending moderation.

If your score is 10 or less, not at all.

Are you saying that some do not even get a notification their post is under moderation ??

I understand for the purpose of trying to avoid scraping/automation but the basic automoderation is so bad it seems crazy to do that to people.

If my memory serves me correctly, we get an green alert not notification

With notification its in the bell, with alert its just on top of the page, if you dont look closely you can miss it and its gone after a refresh.

Its true once user comes back to their post - "pending approval" shows up next to title and nowhere for a comment

I find it annoying too, but I understand why it's there. I think the real damage is when it comes to discussion. You get notified about an answer. Try to read it. "Pending moderation". Usually for hours, sometimes days. You don't get notified again once it has been released. I'm pretty sure lot of conversations meet an early end because of that.

Part of the issues are automod rules set over years where mods keep adding rules but never delete or change them.

I know in one sub where mods come and go often, there is something like 100+ automod rules and sometimes even the mods aren't clear on why it's flagged. It takes time and energy to sit down and go through them all.... and we're all volunteers here. Nobody is getting paid.
