I like and dislike the new Whonix : whonix | Torhoo darknet markets

So team,

I had a slight scare, so I downloaded the latest version of Whonix from scratch. There's quite a few differences - mainly in that you basically have a "user" boot, which is the normal, and a sysadmin boot, for doing maintenance and upgrades.

Positives -
Obviously no root access on the user boot, much more difficult to be comprised
Slightly faster
Negatives
I couldn't get file sharing to work properly. Had to use the sysadmin and copy files over and chown them. This will make transferring pictures more pain and time consuming
Upgrades require two virtual reboots also
Installing any extra programs will require two reboots also

I still have both, I did figure out my issue. But is Whonix going a little too tight and "UAC" with Whonix?

i agree some things are a bit tedious, but you cant have convenience and security, right? i havent used older versions of whonix though. i think its pretty neat how it is.
I like my shared folders. I can't run Blender or Gimp under Whonix. My video card doesn't work. A 20 minute Blender render takes days.
