Be cautious using a website to clean your exif data. You have to upload it to their website meaning they could easily have a copy of it WITH the exif data still. If you have something illegal in your picture you should do it manually yourself.
It is incredibly easy to do in tails. Just right click the picture
Just a guess here as I don't have any images on my tails. Right click, maybe look at properties and you should be able to delete some of the info I would assume. I've done the same thing on word docs and the like
You can manually remove it on your phone or on your computer. Several YouTube guides on how to on iOS and Android, regardless of version. I always remove my exif data before sending it to the DNM to upload. FYI.
If you are using whonix with qubes, You need this software to be Installed --> exiftool
"sudo apt install libimage-exiftool-perl".
and then
exiftool -all=IMG12940293742.jpg
If you are Bill Gates and using Windows then right click your pic, choose properties, choose details, click the link "remove properties and personal information".
It might be a complete opsec fail but I actually like Windows 10 a lot. One of the things that I most disliked about earlier versions was how long it took to boot up or restart to working status. With fast boot that issue is gone.
Windows is still really risky because of all the holes, but if it's just dread I wouldn't worry as much. Windows has actually made it really simple to boot into tails. You can just hold down shift, and click restart on windows and it will give you the option to boot from USB.
There are also many good apps that let you not only delete ALL .exif data, but also allow you to choose your own geolocation etc etc. It's a good throw off and also handy and easier to deal with then uploading to a site to delete it (which is one extra link in an unnecessary chain of trail leading back to you).
A couple I have used in the past:
Photo Stripper
Scrambled .Exif
And my personal favorite, Photo Exif Editor
thanks was looking for other options when b/cloud said image too large. It is usually possible to remove location data on the device but the other stuff I didn't know. upvote :)
I got you, gave you a new flair as well. I thought that post was supposed to be funny at one point however after dealing with /d/coke and /d/xanax drama I was stuck in mod mode...
what about using the app EXIF and also, what about taking pics from your phone, cleaning them then sending them w an anonymous email like protonmail? how do i do this safely?!
do people only use old style digital camera's, or are there people who use old iphones (or new?) to take pics for reviews and such? Is is that much riskier or should I just go to a pawn shop and try to buy one. maybe this sounds like a sutpid question but i'm newer and I'd rather ask then not :)

Also gave you credit. And upvoted your comment.
You're a true dread champion
