Interests : Dread | Torhoo darknet markets

Hello,

recently I got into politics, I launched my own political subdread to discuss my believes with others and to organize ourselves, I saw an incredible growth of subscribers, 100% within less than 24h, which I thought was incredible.

I wanted to edit my interests to represent that I'm into politics but with great disdain I found out that dread does not support this yet.

I know if this has not the biggest priority but I could see it being of benefit to expand the "Interests" on Dread by adding "Politics" to it, after all this is a free speech site and it gets harder and harder to discuss your ideologies in the clearnet, especially if they are outlawed in some countries.

I would love the option to mark my subdread as political and for it to get shown once someone clicks that he is into politics as well.

Thank you.

Interest is something that needs some love. It was a great idea we had while working on dread v3. We really underestimated how much time we were going to need to put all the subdreads into categories, and how to properly setup the categories. At one point we were getting into subcategories, and it turned really messy.

/u/Solar when we have time we should get back to putting subs in categories. /u/Paris /u/hugbunter we should revisit this and find a best way to sort everything when we have time. I'll get some ideas together.

We'll just crowdsource it shortly, that was always my plan at least. Have an optional survey essentially when users log in

Do what google does with recaptcha. Use the captcha to categorise dread subs.

If 1000 people think LSD should be categorised as drugs and 2 people think it should be politics.

You have your answer.

Politics on dread should be done only by /u/HugBunter and /u/Paris !

Others who aspire to make politics here on Dread, they are open to create their own forum!

As Shaky said, the feature has been neglected since adding it as we've had way bigger priorities. We will soon crowdsource the categories for all communities and then allow manual setting when someone creates a community from there onwards, with some moderation in place for it of course. We'll also expand the categories, the current ones were just what we came up with in haste when getting that huge update live that it was included in.
