Is clicking or visiting clearnet sites dangerous with Tails? : Tails | Torhoo darknet markets
I stumbled upon an opsec guide which said to never click on clearnet links while using the Tor browser because ''I could give myself away'' and encounter malicious exit guards. I don't really understand what that means.
Does this apply for Tails or only when using Tor on Windows? Is it safe to browse the dark web and open another tab and visit a clearnet website with duckduckgo on Tails?
Idk why you would mix your dn identity with a clearnet one, especially on the same IP. Using tails for clearnet seems like overkill, it's going to be slow, you can't log in to anything (to remain anonymous), you can't play videos...I would just use Mullvad VPN and mullvad browser for the clearnet and stick to using tails on Tor only.
More than often there are things on the clearnet (not illegal) that I want to see, but could hint LE about what I might do
For example watching a tutorial, which is not illegal by itself, but what you will achieve with it is illegal. I want to stay anonymous when I visit the site thus I am using tor to hide my IP.
Vpns have chance of failing while Tor is opposite. And I visit all my forums on clear net with tails and Tor..... No problems
Yet I once tried with proton VPN .. then next thing I know after my session the proton VPN disconnected itself .... And I was signed into my real IP. Nothing illegal but still my privacy I want
that wouldn't happen on mullvad, there's a killswitch setting that will engage if your internet is disconnected. I thought the hype on mullvad was just cap but no its actually the fastest most legit vpn ive ever used. There's also bridge tunneling, allowing you to use different IP's for different browsers and services. Such as browsing reddit or 4chan on one IP, then using youtube on another one. You can also pay by a bunch of anonymous options, and signing up is anonymous.
