So could I just switch back to Windows on the computer I run Tails on for that? Or does it have to be a different device?

There are better options: Tails, Whonix, Qubes

are u talking about retoswap? for me it is flawless, but simple copy/paste did not work. You need to correct the commands they provide I don't know why they didn't put it corectly right away. But let look it up, ill post the one that worked for me in a few moments.

Ok so as a base I used this post.

https://www.redditmedia.com/r/Monero/comments/1gaco6v/psa_there_is_now_a_working_install_script_for/?ref=readnext

But the command in it will give you retoswap 1.0.12 as you can see in the command itself, and 1.0.12 will launch successfully, But it will refuse to work and tell you that it is mandatory to update the app to 1.0.18 (which is the latest atm) And I was not able to find a way how to update, other than to initially install 1.0.18 and to do that you simply need to correct the version in the command, so the original command from guide is

curl -x socks5h://127.0.0.1:9050 -fsSLO
https://github.com/haveno-dex/haveno/raw/master/scripts/install_tails/haveno-install.sh
&& bash haveno-install.sh
https://github.com/retoaccess1/haveno-reto/releases/download/v1.0.12/haveno-linux-deb.zip
DAA24D878B8D36C90120A897CA02DAC12DAE2D0F

and you need to correct the '1.0.12' to '1.0.18' that simple, and then it will appear in the same application/other/haveno and it will work just fine. Also important the command didn't work for me until I backspaced all the lines to each other, I'm not sure how to call this correctly, out it so all the spaces inbetween all words are identical to spaces in the command from haveno github:

https://github.com/retoaccess1/haveno-reto/tree/master/scripts/install_tails

so your final command to run should look like this(copy paste exactly what is inside the quotes, without quotes)

"curl -x socks5h://127.0.0.1:9050 -fsSLO https://github.com/haveno-dex/haveno/raw/master/scripts/install_tails/haveno-install.sh && bash haveno-install.sh https://github.com/retoaccess1/haveno-reto/releases/download/v1.0.18/haveno-linux-deb.zip DAA24D878B8D36C90120A897CA02DAC12DAE2D0F"

Run this in regular teminal (not root) and let us know how it goes. Also note that you need to turn on the administrator password feature upon your tails start. Then once installed, when you run haveno you'll be asked for that admin password everytime you run the app.

Good luck!

Thanks. Ran that in the terminal. No errors yet, but it's taking a while. It still says:
"Creating desktop menu icon...
Downloading Haveno from URL provided..."

It's been like, 20 minutes now, lol.

Bro I'm glad it seems to work, but if my memory is not messed up, I don't think it took more than 20 minutes in my case. In my case it did not work a couple times due to me trying different corrections and I'm far from a pro in cli, but every time there was a problem terminal gave me an error. I guess give it another 10-15 minutes but not more by then if it did not install then something is wrong. Let me know here if it wont work I will try to install it from the same link I gave you to a fresh tails (i got a few old thumbdrives) and if it won't work let's try to see how I messed up in the my initial advise. But if it'll work in my fresh tails then I guess issue is in your tails instance.

Hey man, it worked. The terminal said it was completed, I just had to extract a few zips to open the program. Thanks for your help!

My pleasure! Deals there require a little deposit, and if you currently don't posess any XMR you can always ask for a 0 deposit offer in retoswap simplex group:
https://simplex.chat/contact#/?v=2-7&smp=smp%3A%2F%2Fhpq7_4gGJiilmz5Rf-CswuU5kZGkm_zOIooSw6yALRg%3D%40smp5.simplex.im%2F2KNui9H8xxaPTuHAsQzJlfLmz_SOMsFk%23%2F%3Fv%3D1-3%26dh%3DMCowBQYDK2VuAyEA8BPETTg3ooyvQ1LiMGeCFbh2MeK9NyubT6NLE8EJzyA%253D%26srv%3Djjbyvoemxysm7qxap7m5d5m35jzv5qq6gnlv7s4rsn7tdwwmuqciwpid.onion&data=%7B%22type%22%3A%22group%22%2C%22groupLinkId%22%3A%22wNDKKQR3EW8Y045FsVofSg%3D%3D%22%7D

Shit I didnt know copy a link without site tracking is going to give such a wall of text. Any way you can find it on their website in the very bottom https://retoswap.com/ To get on that group you obiously need a simplex instance running, for full security probably better to run it on tails as well. I dont though.

You could have done it that way:

(Not vouching for that post, no idea if it's legit, but it's a clever way to share a long-ass SimpleX link.)

Speaking of which, is there any way to run SimpleX on Tails with a "persistent" profile? I've used it for a couple weeks, had to backup and restore each day to keep past conversations, very inconvenient.

Alright, another problem. Retoswap won't connect to the Haveno/Tor network, just staying on step 1/4. I checked "Hide my network" when I started Tor Connection on Tails, and connected with a custom bridge. I had hoped that Retoswap would use the bridge to connect to the Haveno Network, but no.

When I select "OPEN TOR SETTINGS" on Retoswap, I enter a new custom bridge from the Tails website, and it tells me a restart is required to apply it. I tried restarted both Retoswap, Tails, doing both, but it just starts the program from sqaure one instead of applying the bridges like it said it would.

Bout ready to use a different exchange, lol.

It is also worth mentioning that if you care about security you MUST use your own XMR node. It is out of question by now, Let us know here if you've got any trouble with OWN node.

what 55gb r u talking about? Tails needs 8gb. Blockchain needs at least 100gb.
