That's why there's a market superlist. Try to do buisness on those markets. They're vetted and generally more trustworthy than the others here.

My current favourite is dm. You can set it up so your money will never be held on the market. Which means after each order is completed, you will recieve the funds directly in your wallet. Just this feature is alone makes it worth being on there.

yeah for sure, but clearly the model is broken. what the fix is i don't know perhaps only let on the highest class of vendors ones with proven honor and no more escrow. because look at it this way with no escrow of a market exists or is seized seeing as the vendor already has the funds there is more chance of you getting your order perhaps you can message the vendor directly or they still have your order data any honorable vendor would complete the order. on the other hand with escrow if the funds is gone everyone loses the customer loses even more if vendor hasn't shipped yet before it all went down.
