Is this method ideal? : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets

Step 1: Buy BTC from coinbase (bad I know, changing in the future)

Step 2: Exchange BTC to XMR using Morphscript (still getting the hang of using that so any advice is much appreciated)

Step 3: Send XMR from Monero wallet to Market

Also if someone could explain subaddresses to me I would be very grateful, from what I gather it's just going on the 'Receive' tab of the Monero client and then clicking on 'Create new address'

Using Monero is definitely a learning curve, but it's for the best. Thank you in advance!

Subaddresses belong to your main wallet, but nobody can connect those. It is like a new address but the received amount shows up in your main wallet. Pretty nice if you ask me. Use for each party a new subaddress.

this method is not ideal, you are using coinbase.

I know :( ignoring the coinbase part tho, am I on the right track?

Yes, that's perfect. Nobody but you can see where the monero goes after it enters your wallet, whereas bitcoin is the opposite, it's fully transparent

Gotta love Monero! I should have switched over to it a long time ago, gld to see that more vendors/markets are adopting it now

You dont necessarily need to do the part with exchanging from BTC to XMR if you can get Monero directly.

Know any good sites to buy Monero from directly? One that doen't require identification would be ideal (ofc) :)

I would send BTC from coinbase to a local wallet like electrum first to add some plausible deniability about where the BTC went. "I sold it to xyz, they must have sent it to morphscript, couldn't have been me...". Adds a bit of fees, but really depends on the level of opsec you are looking for.

I'll probaly just stick to ordering from LocalMonero and save a bit of cash in the process, Not a vendor or anything so hopefully it wont matter too much where I get the XMR from
