Just download the latest version from electrum-ltc.org, install it, and open the app. In the wallet creation wizard, select "Standard wallet" and "Create a new seed." Choose "Legacy (p2pkh)" for the address type to ensure addresses start with "L." If the legacy option isn’t visible, use the Console tab (enable via View > Show Console) and enter wallet.create_new_wallet(wallet_type='p2pkh'). Write down the 12-word seed phrase securely, set an optional password, and verify your addresses start with "L" in the Addresses tab.

Hey! For an original (legacy, non-SegWit) Litecoin wallet using Electrum, here’s the deal: Electrum-LTC supports both SegWit and legacy addresses, but by default it might create SegWit ones. When setting up your wallet, choose “Standard wallet,” then on the next screen pick “Create a new seed” and make sure to select the option for a legacy (P2PKH) address type instead of SegWit or Native SegWit. This will give you starting addresses that begin with an “L” instead of “M” or “ltc1.”

If you’re using the standard Electrum (for BTC), it won’t work with LTC—you need Electrum-LTC which is a separate app tailored for Litecoin.

There aren’t tons of super detailed guides floating around, but that Electrum-LTC GitHub repo and official docs are your best bet for setup instructions. Feel free to ask if you want more step-by-step help!
