Most Popular Types Of Fraud In 2025 : Fraud | Torhoo darknet markets
Just posting some different avenues you might be
interested in, i'll post them in order from what I think pays the most to the least
1. Crypto Account takeover
This definitely takes the cake, highly sophisticated scam usually involves sim swapping, innys working at phone companies and possibly forging fake documents to bypass crypto exchanges very sophisticated KYC verification. I tend to see guys in this career score for $10m+
2. Vin swapping
Now i'm not sure weather to consider this just plain theft or fraud but there's alot of fraud that goes into it so i'll consider it fraud. For example, a few buddies of mine acquired a AMG G-Wagon Mercedes Benz from the dealership brand new using a CPN and immediately VIN swapped it and forged documents such as car title etc to then sell the vehicle for 90k. so dudes in this lane can definitely make a chunk of change
3. Wire Fraud
Now alot of people still don't know what Wire Fraud it can be alot of different things, like buying stolen bank logs and using ACH or M2M to transfer funds to a bank drop. But one of the more sophisticated ways is when a fraudster hacks into a large companies email and changes payment information. So say a construction company sends $200k to another company every 3 months for equipment, and your able to hack into their email or database and change the recipient info to your bank drop, you'll then receive those funds
4. Spoofing
I'm not going to get to detailed into this one since Dread is full of Feds and I know people still doing this, but spoofing has been on a high up rise since the beginning of covid, where fraudsters use phone spoofing software to call elderly victims posing as their bank and then hack into their accounts to wipe their accounts
6. Check Fraud
One of the oldest scams in the book but still very rampant and pays well. If you know what you're doing and have the correct resources it definitely pays good and I doubt it will be losing any traction anytime soon
6. CPNs
Didn't want to include this in the list since technically it's legal and it isn't fraud but Credit Profile Numbers have always been a thing and if you do it right it pays well. Tons of fraudsters use it to get large loans, open bank accounts, get credit cards, and approvals for apartments, cars etc
7. Credit Cards
My least favorite but it still was my bread and butter for years, sorry to all my swipers for leaving this for last. Swiping definitely still pays if you do it right and some guys touch 10k a month off it but I just hate the stress and trial and error that comes with it. Ive definitely used it for free vacations, free yatchts, food, ubers, bnbs, hotels but just not worth investing all my time in as a full career
