No More Scams Targeted At Individuals Allowed! : SocialEngineering | Torhoo darknet markets

Seeing all you third world scammers posting "help me with my phishing" "help me with my email spamming" makes me sick. From here on out, posts regarding any type of scam directed at individual people is no longer allowed.

Sorry, but I find this a little confusing.

I get what you want to say: steal from companies, not from citizens.

I'm not an expert, but from what I have seen from SE challenges, it seems actually very much about targeting individuals and what you want to prevent sounds more like a mass-targeting thing to me.

I guess it's in the semantics of "targeting". Although you might not want to steal from a specific individual, I'd argue you'd still call them a target if you focus on a specific person to retrieve information for a bigger goal.
Fraud that convinces stupid people to send you money is not covered by banks at all, the end result is money out of an unwitting morons pocket. That's fucked up no matter how you slice it. Romance scams, phishing (for the most part), shit like that hurts individual people. Any fraud targeting individuals is what's being outlawed, not social engineering in general

It's sad to me that so many people consider se simply a tool to steal from people. Se is baked into every single avenue of fraud, you can't commit fraud without seing somebody, the most common example being customer reps.

Corporate fraud for the win. It has always been the bread and butter (for me any way). Whether it be bank fraud, insurance fraud, return fraud etc. They write it off as "breakage or shrink" & move on.

SE on high net targets, ok but like you said we see these dumb ass basically half assed, low effort, 3rd world "reverse scams" in every single sub now. Annoying and time consuming to clean up.
Couldn't have said it better myself

Fucking genius. What is next? /d/Cocaine moderators prohibiting cocaine discussion?
It's so sad to me that so many of you think social engineering is exclusively targeting individuals. You can't commit any type of fraud without some form of se. This just no longer allows tricking the average stupid person into sending you money in one way or another, because that's not covered by any bank the way traditional fraud (carding, identity theft, etc) is.

If the only way you want to se, is tricking poor stupid people, then yeah, this sub isn't for you

Phishing and spam could also be targeting individuals working at certain companies. Not everyone here is a native English speaker, this is confusing, as several other users mentioned in their comments.

You see what you want to see. You see the justified explanation inside your head—others do not. You did a very bad job explaining the reason and what was actually disallowed.

I never said it was exclusive, the cocaine subdread reference was more of an exaggerated joke. It is not exclusive, but it is a huge part of Social Engineering, which you are now prohibiting, which in turn seems illogical.

this sub isn't for you
I was not a part of this subdread in the first place. It was maddening to see the change, so I commented.

Okay, this is clearly a very large part of this community though. Not sure why you made this decision, but you should make a post clearing up what's allowed vs what's not allowed.
What part of it is confusing? Are you trying to steal money from an individual person? That's not allowed. Are you trying to steal from a bank or major corporation? Probably good to go
