On a real note... : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets

On a real note. Which exchange is safest for XMR>BTC. Elude seems sketch, way to many users saying they had horrible experiences there. Don't even know why https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDJRdlRXOXVaWEp2# would mention nor even endorse their services. Please help as a seller I find myself stuck with a bunch of XMR. The most expensive secure way seems to be those crypto ATMs, most of them do cash out XMR directly, no need to change to BTC or LTC.
10% per every $100 sucks though.
No better than elude in swap for BTC. I mean, if you do the math, you're paying 13% to swap your coins with them and they recently switched up their UI/UX to be annoying as fuck and you can't really gauge what you're withdrawing or keeping on their wallets.
Rendering practically useless to the masses, and only to those who can configure how to pay bare min tx fees if they can withdraw at all. Which if you read carefully, about x8 people for the last two weeks have been trying to contact support and get their funds out of elude on dread forums alone. Not counting TheHub, DNMAvengers, and various other darknet forum outlets that have decentralized community where you can speak your mind and not be censored by ogli’s.
Anyone else have any real input?
Need to cash out about $1k in XMR > BTC asap without coming back and compaining how long it took or worst, that funds never came and admins/devs of the site i exchanged take forever if not appear to be selective scamming users.

I don't know if it counts as an exchange. I use it with great success. BigBlue Market has an in-house coin swap. Low fees, easy as fuck, super fast exchange.

I heard good things about flyp.me
But why would you even go back to btc?

flyp.me way easier, cheaper, and you won't get selective scam like elude. Staff at elude selective scam. I know from experience, have multiple accounts with them, multiple support tickets that never get answered. fyp.me has not done me wrong in the past week and I saved on the highway robbery fees elude does.

Really? I'm always skeptical of exchanges that aren't regular businesses that they could be selectively scamming, so I've always held that same skepticism of elude.

I did bring up my skepticism once here and had a rep from elude tell me that it's better for customers that they're not a registered business and that their customer service was better blah blah blah. The other issue for me was their rates being higher than the rest. But yours is the first I've seen that claims they do selectively scam. Interesting.

Well they are not completely wrong when they say its better when they are not a registered business.
Registered businesses always at least to some degree need to work together with LEA.

But i never used them (yet) so i can not say anything about how reliable they really are.

"Registered businesses always at least to some degree need to work together with LEA"

True, but there's huge wiggle room in "to some degree". There's the bare minimum like Morphtoken based out of Panama finally responding to US subpoena to hand over specific materials requested in a warrant. Then on the other end of the spectrum there's Coinbase working hand in hand in partnership with US LEA to train IRS and FBI officials how to use their blockchain analysis software.

I just feel more secure using exchanges that are registered businesses. Being subject to regulatory oversight means they have to conduct themselves as a real business which makes them less prone to selective scamming.

Yes thats true.

But even if a company decided to try to hand over as least as possible this can change any day and maybe you are the first one.
And history showed that just because its a registered business does really not mean that they do not (selectively) scam.

But i get what you mean.

True, just like there's no guarantees that if it's not a registered business they won't share info once LE starts making threats.

Still I think the odds are far better that a small business that subjects themselves to regulatory oversight is focused on the long game rather than it being just couple people running an exchange out of their basement who could exit at any time with no consequences. Real businesses could be subjected to lawsuits by pissed off customers they selectively scam where courts could force them to provide material proof of their accounting. Their real identities would be known when they registered and they could be held personally liable. There's more accountability with a business.

Meanwhile, if it's not a registered business you have no idea how shady the characters are behind the exchange.

But yeah of course there's no guarantees, nothing is 100%.

Go back to BTC to cash out easier. Try cashing out fiat for XMR, come back and tell me your experiences then. I have had a localmonero account since its inception. Sold .5XMR that is it. Had way better experiences at Bisq, flyp.me, a few others I can't remember, and used to have good experiences on elude until the past two weeks. Not feeling elude anymore, wouldn't recomend it to anyone honestly.

Isn't cash by mail for buyers on localmonero rather than sellers?

Sure it works both ways. Thing with that is that if you read carefully, law enforcement has been exploiting cash in mail crypto trades. Many previous cases add something like they were trading cash with "subject" which solidified their cases. I found LocalXMR irl deals to be the best so far. And like with LBC, you can establish OTR relations with traders when you feel comfortable with them.

Oooh, nice catch! But couldn't LE exploit LocalXMR the same way they do cash-by-mail? They just need a LEO in person to do the deals.

When you say LE has been exploiting cash trades? Do you think they are just out there buying it all up all willy nilly or do you think that someone is a target first, and thats just an added charge thrown in there for whatever reason? I just dont see how doing a a few smaller xmr trades here and there could be evidence tying you to a vendor account. The site is legal correct? What are some ways you can snag yourself up in a cash trade that potentially might be LE?
