I'm considering placing an order online for some gel tabs but have read some stuff indicating that the acid can get messed up being shipped in summer heat. Do any of you know if having some gel tabs shipped during temps ranging from 88-94 degrees will result in the acid being less effective or potent due to the temperature?

I have had tons of acid in my pockets during raves for days in 100+ degree heat, in loose aluminum foil and probably half sweaty from myself. Still got crazy fucked up. I wouldnt stress the little time it takes in transit. It may lose a tiny bit but not enough to be pissed.

My current gel tabs went through 2 weeks of summer transit and they are like a year old right now and still fucking crush me.

Packages aren't just sitting out in pure heat all transit. Like 50% of its time is sitting in a USPS warehouse waiting to be sorted in the probably moderate AC.

First off, you're a trooper for lasting in 100+ heat when tripping. I tend to overheat very easily for some reason when I'm tripping.

It's great to hear that it shouldn't lose more than a tiny kick when in transit. I'm low on supplies but wasn't sure about summer shipping, so this has been a big help!

It's fine. When they have it in transit it's room temperature average. It needs to be in the low to mid 90s for a couple days to start real degradation.

This wasn't a Storage Post by OP, rather a Shipping Temperature Question.
He'll store it fine once he gets it but he asked about transit. I've ordered it in the Summer since covii started, transit heat never harmed any of it,; all mediums too except crystal(I'm not that rich lol)

Its fine, id be more worried about if it was laid right, if it was fully dry, and how its packaged. If there is moisture in it, BAD. Dry- probably good.

Hmm, this raises a good question. A shipment I received was more gelatinous than normal gel tabs and didn't seem fully dry. I placed it in the freezer, but is that a bad sign? Not sure if I should contact the seller about that?

Not a bad sign for gel tabs, they will be fine. I was referring to paper, gel tabs can sweat and not lose potency, ime.

Very interesting question What I would really like to have is a "scientific" explanation
I’ve read that LSD storage above 77 °F is compromised, but it remains unclear over what time frame this degradation becomes significant. Also, to what extent can protection from light and UV slow down or prevent this degradation, especially during transport..

I disagree with the other posts, high heat can and will degrade your product. It wont all dissapear, it will still be very active - but reduced. The part I agree on is its really only going to be exposed to those temps for a couple of days so should be fine. But if its sitting in your mailbox for a week I'd worry. Of course it will still mostly be intact, but you will lose something.

Like others have said, you should care more if your tabs were accurately dosed or not, if they were real LSD or fake, if they were stashed correctly all that time or not. Too many more important factors than the one you are thinking of, so take it easy and once you get the patch, just test it and take 1 tab after.
