Phantasma Market and Miracle Market are now banned from Dread : DarkNetMarkets | Torhoo darknet markets

This isn't something I like doing, but it is in the best interests of both the market admins themselves and users of these platforms, but I will not be allowing them a place on Dread following the discovery of their IP addresses with little (no) effort.

This is why we allow a quarantine process of new markets handled by the DarkNetMarkets subdread Mods, managing the Superlist to only approve new additions based on minimum requirements, including time to establish themselves without promotion through Dread. It allows time for them to be tried and tested without directly pushing users towards potential great risks.

Phantasma's IP I found within minutes of entering the site, which was simply out of curiosity following the Admins erratic behavior in the past few weeks.

The Miracle Market IP however, was discovered by https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlJHVnRiMjVwWXc9PQ==# when pen testing them.

To make matters worse:
Miracle was hosted in the great ol' US of A.
Phantasma was running on a $99 script he purchased on the clearnet, which was a Silk Road themed re-skin of Eckmar script.

Adding to this and to clarify, an IP leak at such an early stage and quite clearly due to an extremely poor and basic server setup is unacceptable and I will not allow the risk of these admins to continue here putting themselves in the way of potential harm as well as any users. I have worked extremely hard over the years to increase the standards of Marketplaces, which has worked to an extent, these situations are a lot less common. It is a stark reminder to everyone, this is not a game, its not a "quick" way to make more money than you can ever spend. It carries extremely great risk, risk that you also assign to users. I'm not always going to be there to protect everyone. LE or anyone with (similar) bad intentions could quite easily exploit the short comings you make as a service operator.

Both markets have been made aware of their IP leaks and I trust they have had ample time to burn their servers.

/u/hugbunter - i think you've taken appropriate action here. Yes, running a market means you have to take the bad with the good. Competition is extremely fierce, but it's all the cost of doing business. However, things like IP leaks that endanger users and the market itself is simply crossing a hard red line line.

/u/chatnoir has done an admirable job at revamping newmarkets, his work literally blows new life into DNMs as it raises the standards and further removes the marketing of exit scam based markets.

https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlJHVnRiMjVwWXc9PQ==# - Great work keeping the standards high and testing these markets.

There are still many reskins around, either banned or live markets. And all of them claim the age-old story: "Build from scratch" . This is just a fact of life. In the end, i personally would like to see more work put into building a market rather than a reskin but we don't all have the means to get there. The most important thing is that whatever your build, to build and make it safe for users. This community and its users have already seen to much shit to then succumb to things like IP leaks.

Good work on this.

alot of these starting markets dont have money so its most likely free. Now if you find something and the admin scoffs or refuses to pay anything , then you know its a bad market. I believe every market should have a chance to compete but not when they are over night , shitty markets, that dont have endgame even set up properly . These are thing you should check and re check tons of times before putting anything in production . maybe i am getting old but if you launch a market have 30k on the side just for bugs and come with something new and revolutionary that will blow everyone hair back.
I’ve been very lucky until recently with new markets paying $500-750 USD in XMR for bug submissions I’ve made. But now I’m on the team with newmarkets mods (I’m not a mod) I do those pentests of markets who are applying to announce, completely for free.

I can’t say who it was, but the first market I tested, I informed the admin I’d do it within a few hours but immediately went looking for their IP and low and behold, 30 seconds later, leaking. 😥

Way too many this year.

Exactly man!!!
It’s (to me) a strong indicator of an admin who plans on not running a market for long enough to care about securing it correctly, as they are most likely going to exit scam once they make $10,000.

Recently banned markets, the one I got banned, was operated by a third world country where the citizens are niggers and everyone lives in a mud hut. Where their mothers are full of Yoroba HIV sperm, mugu.

/u/HugBunter 📢 A

They still run on a server with internet access, it usually occurs either because the web server is serving over the IP as it does by default or through an exploit where you can read network information, for example from the server status or debug output or injecting arbitrary code of your own to output information.
/u/root P

I don't know how you can even leak your IP when running a market unless you're very lazy because you can just run the web server in Whonix. The virtual machine only has access to Tor and no internet access so it isn't possible to leak the IP.
/u/HugBunter 📢 A

A lot of these new markets are ran by individuals with absolutely zero networking, development or even basic OpSec knowledge, they just buy a script and follow the included setup instructions which is 1. buy server, 2. install nginx, php, mysql, crypto node, 3. copy files to web directory, 4. profit
/u/quark P
1 points

Haha, sounds like the "1-click operation" method: Buy a server, install everything, hope for the best, and pray the Tor gods don't notice! It's like playing Russian roulette with your IP, but hey, at least they get to skip the whole "learn how to secure your server or code from 0" step! 🙈

Its a good thing really, its better that this gets discovered before they gain traction. Every market starts somewhere and most go unheard of for a while as they are quarantined to the newmarkets sub, which allows this sort of thing to be safely exposed in the background. I don't usually like to even draw attention to them in these circumstances, but it also serves as a warning for anyone who wakes up with a bright idea to just start a market.

HB, master. That /u/godman_666 bitch is mad because you closed the only place he could find a job on /d/Phantasma Market. Me and him had a hit a while back because he used a Python library to generate special character names like "admin" and "quark": my admin username and a vendor's username. He created three names just to demonstrate.

First, he was abusing what he called a bug. Secondly, he claimed it posed a risk to the market, but all he did was create a username, like if I created a username on Dread with "HugBunter," but without the actual privileges of the real HugBunter. So I told him, really, this is a market, not a forum; it poses no risk in any form. But I also told him I’d send him something. Then he demanded $1K.

I asked if he had read my market’s bug bounty program, and he said yes. At the end of the bounty, I explicitly specified that the admin would review the bugs and give awards based on the severity. The bug he submitted had one or two critical issues at most, according to my table. But since he was demanding, I didn’t respond to him again.

Later, when I was about to push an update, it was just a reg fix I was supposed to add. But I was also writing a new system for account linking to get a clean view of scammer accounts and ban them all. So I used a dd() function to debug: it simply dumps the variables you give it. I gave it the current user session to check what was set and what wasn’t.

Because of the shitshow he started, I was in a hurry to push the update and forgot to remove the dd() function. Minutes later, I remembered and fixed it. But he also saw it, shared it with Phantasma Market, and they gave him a job. LMFAO. That’s all this FUD about, HB.

https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlJHVnRiMjVwWXc9PQ==#, I hope you won’t align yourself with that godman shit. You're more professional than him and I respect you for that I know you talk shit about me and my market but that's fine imo!

POV: He asked me for a job, and I said no I already have my team. That’s where everything started!

It is, eckmar script use has always been shamed, the difference being when they show they have enough development knowledge to extend it to a point where it is their own and are then able to manage when there are issues and produce fixes. I was pointing out how low level this was and was not a customized system of their own doing.

I have worked hard to do this, ensuring minimum requirements and literally taking over the servers of multiple marketplaces is what my reputation was built on. What else would you call that? Hacks don't occur often now, comparatively. I don't put much focus on any of it these days, but this makes it clear that I should.

How am I "full of shit" for explaining that I did put a focus on this... its literally all I used to do, but you just like to have something negative to say.

He was just childishly freaking out trying to dictate what mods should be in charge of subs and that he should be a Mod of the newmarkets sub... as a new market himself. Refused to listen to anyone's advice and complained when they banned him from the sub.
