Looking for any popular xmpp or irc servers. Don't care about privacy, as I'm just looking to chat with randoms on the internet. Been searching for a while and have yet to find one with over 10 users and 1 post per hour. Would appreciate it if they allowed signups with TOR exit IPs, though, as I don't want to stop using tails.

MUC isn't that popular, XMPP is mainly used for one-on-one conversations

For IRC I'd check out ⚠️Libera⚠️, ⚠️OFTC⚠️ and ⚠️Irc2P⚠️ - they're available over Tor and I2P, respectively

Keep in mind Libera and OFTC requires you to sign up over clear net before you're able to access their .onion addresses, but this is easily circumvented with a residential proxy or VPN

Appreciate the reply! Did not know MUC wasn't popular as every XMPP server I've signed up for has a MUC room (only 2). I couldn't figure out how to sign up for Libera over TOR when I tried before I posted. I'll tinker around with it today since I've got nothing to do.
