Really depends on the country, if you scroll down this sub a bit, you will see the story of a guy in Chzec who went in a lot of trouble for some weed.
Not so long ago in Thailand you were looking for years behind bars for a little amount, and it's coming back.

That apart I just find weed inconvenient: it's too big, it's smells too much and it doesn't pay enough for the hassle imo. I've dealt weed in highschool and in college but only because it was moving fast.
