It is true that Energy Control is not functional with max Tor security but can be accessed by Tor if you relax the security enforcement for the site. This is possible to do conveniently and just for the specific site visit by using the Tor noscript extension which can be found on the Tor website.
Noscript shows you the specific relaxations required - only you can decide if this is the right decision for you

FWIW This is how I access Energy Control because:
- I don't think Energy Control is monitoring and do think they themselves are trustworthy...
- ...but I worry more about third party monitoring and I think Tor provides good protection against this even with the relaxations
- I think it's a better approach than alternatives
