are you talking about the PACER database? you can pay to search existing court records sure but if the indictment is sealed you're not gonna find it, that's the whole point of sealed. so you'd probably be wasting your time

Lexis Nexis is one of the original companies for that, but there are a bunch of sites out there now that give you access to public court documents. The thing is with you saying in another comment about it not mattering about it being sealed and it's fine with you not being able to see the contents.. sealed will mean there is just nothing available - no names, nothing. i will google for those other companies, and yeah it being sealed will show nothing but will show there is something open which that is what he is looking for. hes only looking for if he has an open case on him not any other information about it and that sealed will only come up if there is some case open or pending on him.

No man, his name will not be visible and searchable whatsoever unless he's actually been arrested and it then gets unsealed after. I know nothing about US law, but common sense dictates that this is how it works - if you could do what you want to do nobody would ever get arrested because they'd just have to do a search every week and then just go into hiding when something came up because they'd know they were going to be busted at some point.
