Some things to keep in mind (Especially for vendors) : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

-You know those shitty blue/white plastic gloves? They are called latex/nitrile gloves and CAN leave fingerprints.
>Addition from https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlJHOXFZVVJsYzNCbGNtRmtidz09#: "Can even leave fingerprints wearing 2-3 pairs of nitrile gloves. A pair of thin cotton nighttime moisture gloves underneath the nitrile works like a charm. "

-You know that shiny silver material that your drugs are packaged in? Its called mylar and IS NOT X-RAY PROOF! However, It is quite good at isolating smell.

-Are your drugs vacuum sealed? They should be. But if it is not cleaned properly after being sealed or is exposed to a substance, then the seal isn't doing much.
>pack them seperatly in another room where no drugs is... ( https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDNVdlJHbHpibVY1ZHpCeWJHUT0=# )

Feel free to add anything and if it matches the topic I'll add it to the post. Tag a vendor who needs a reminder.
Great topic. Perhaps crosspost to /d/vendor_handbook ?

On the topic of the mylar... anyone have an accurate photo of what an item sealed in thick mylar bags actually looks like in a customs-grade scanner?

I've heard both ways about the mylar in a scanner. I've heard some people say it just shows black like a void, I've heard other people say it sees right through it but have not seen proof either way.

Anyone have a pic they could dumpload of a scanned mylar packaged item? Or even references to what makes you say it can or can't block the scans? Would be very interested in putting the issue to rest with some receipts and ideally pics.

At the very least, if anyone around here works in healthcare, maybe someone could arrange a little test for us and zap a mylar bag with something in it to see how it shows up. I know customs scanners are not the same as what they're using in hospitals, but I imagine it would still give a pretty good idea.

Mylar has always been recommended, I also have seen both theories around it.
If somebody could finally clear the waters with actual evidence, we could all be benefiting from this, vendors, to prevent losses, and buyers, to be able to stay more secure.
Certainly. It's been recommended as the visual barrier for at least a decade, but as I've waded into INTL shipping, that's where I start hearing mixed opinions. I generally send smaller weed packs and concentrates without mylar INTL, but I send larger INTL packs with it and have had great success both ways.

Someone around here has to be banging a nurse or dental assistant or something... lol

Maybe we should have a contest and pool some XMR together for the first person to submit legit pics with a timestamp and dread username in the photo.

Mylar is good when it comes to combat permeation of the product to get smell-proof packaging.
Why not, this is a good idea. Bounties with XMR winnings are more likely to be effective.

What about somebody reputable makes this with XMR view keys attached in the post?
Sounds good to me!
Ah, good point on the permeation. The weeds do be stinky! Had a 2lb box once take a detour across half of Europe for no good reason. It landed safely after almost 2 months in transit and the customer said they could smell the weed a little just after opening the box. That was with 4 vac seal layers and no mylar.

It's a matter of time, especially with vacuum layers.
Mylar is a gold standard for that, and yours is a good example of why many vendors decide to just use Mylar instead, or combine the two.

"ts called mylar and IS NOT X-RAY PROOF"
- True but completely misleading -

Mylar, the registered trademark, is a plastic and provides no x-ray protection. However, Mylar bags are a generic name for metal coated Mylar shipping bags. Mylar shipping bags are typically coated with aluminum foil. You can find this fact with google. - And, here is info on aluminum foil and x-rays from an article on airport luggage scanners:

https://matrixcope.com/can-airport-scanners-see-through-aluminum-foil/#:~:text=While%20aluminum%20foil%20can%20reflect,security%20protocols%20during%20air%20travel.

"Aluminum Foil in Luggage:

Opacity to X-rays: Aluminum foil, being a metal, is highly reflective to X-rays. When an X-ray scanner encounters aluminum foil, it can create a shadow or a bright white area on the screen, depending on the thickness of the foil. While this might obscure the view of items directly behind the foil, security personnel are trained to identify and investigate any areas of interest or anomalies."

Haha, love the PSA vibes! Here’s some additions for the squad:

Those blue/white gloves? Yeah, they’re sneaky little fingerprint helpers if you don’t double-glove or switch ‘em up. So unless you wanna leave your whole life story on the package, beware the “glove print”!

Mylar’s the Beyoncé of drug packaging—looks shiny and protective but is definitely not the X-ray vault it pretends to be. Great for smell-blocking though, so it’s got that hustle.

Vacuum seal pride! But remember, a half-assed seal is like a ziplock with holes—might as well be handing out invitations to sniffers and moisture. Clean before sealing is king.

Oh, and one for vendors: If you’re using tape that makes that crinkle-crinkle noise when peeled, might be time to upgrade. It’s like a garlic breath for packages.
