Honestly I'm hoping we spoiled their HoneyPot because eagle-eyed and paranoid dread users noticed small details like dashes and apostrophes and put the pieces together ourselves.

I was thinking the same thing. Could be that he was already compromised during that first DDoS post, could just be a snarky joke made by LE as a final jab at the admin. Only time will tell.

You're right there is no way they would make a video and register a domain revealing the operation unless they were confident they had Big Boss'es location and knew he wouldn't flee. Waiting 2 weeks without arresting him would be strange since there would be high risk of him ghosting or pulling a dead man's switch (if one existed).
Which leaves the other conclusion:
He was in custody since then.

Looking back at this /post/e631830048b23c8d57d1, the "pixel wall" that was added for their 5th birthday seems like something LE would do. Encouraging users to upload as many photos as possible hoping people don't delete the exif/metadata. Just complete speculation on my part though.
